The first night en route will be spent in Austria – at an elevation of more than 5,000 ft! Crossing through the small principality of Liechtenstein, we reach Switzerland, home of famous cheeses, watches and knives. But the mountains are just as famous and we will stay here for an extra day – the roads are too good to be missed! And just when you think the riding can’t get any better, we reach Italy.

The combination of mountains and lakes can only be described with one word: breath-taking! But not only the scenery is memorable, the food is excellent and the roads are probably some of the best you have ever seen. The mother of all passes, Passo di Stelvio, is only one of the highlights. Leaving Italy behind us, we return to Austria for one more night in this motorcyclist’s paradise.

Eventually we have to turn our bikes towards Germany – some beautiful roads lead us back towards our destination near Munich. Time has flown and we would hate to have to stop riding – fortunately this was only Part 1 of the RIDER Alps Challenge motorcycle tour!
