We start in Nairobi, the bustling capital of Kenya. From here we head north, to Mount Kenya, our first destination on this exciting motorcycle tour. Watching Africa’s wildlife is an important part of this tour. Wherever and whenever possible, we will go on a game drive and try to spot the Big Five – elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo. Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara are among the best places on the planet to see wild animals. Amboseli National Park is the place where you can take that quintessential picture: a herd of elephants in front of some rugged acacia trees with the snow-covered peak of Mount Kilimanjaro looming in the background.
From Amboseli we continue south, crossing the border to Tanzania. Northern Tanzania is second to none when it comes to natural scenery and wildlife. The world’s largest unflooded volcano caldera, Ngorongoro Crater, is home to a multitude of species, and during the rest day you will have plenty of time to go and see them. Or you can just sit on the terrace of our lodge, with a cold beer in your hand, and marvel at the incredible views from the crater rim. The tour ends down on the coast, at the Indian Ocean. The beaches south of Mombasa are known for their white sand and palm trees, and it’s not a bad idea to spend your last day snorkelling or diving to discover the great reef and Kenya’s underwater world. If you want you can add a few more days here or on Zanzibar, or return home from Mombasa International Airport.
