Later the ride heads for the heart of the Alps, where the roads are narrower and twisties abound. Leaving Munich, you head north, passing by towns that have remnants of old city walls, cobblestone streets and houses dating back to the 15th century and on to Rothenburg. Your luggage will be waiting in a grand old hotel of this fortified city, which boasts a castle, pubs, and restaurants that have existed for the past 500 years! A highlight on the second day of riding is Odenwald Forest, often linked to German folklore sagas – and for motorcyclists it presents innumerable small, hilly twisties.
On the third riding day, you head into the Black Forest region, known for its cuckoo clocks and Black Forest Cake. The next day will be a rest day and you can decide yourself whether to go for a ride to the French Alsace region or spend another day in the Black Forest. On the next two days get ready to collect some mountain passes on your way through Switzerland and Austria back to Munich. Leave the rest up to the Best of Europe motorcycle tour!
