We leave Frankfurt, heading south-east towards Rothenburg as no beer-tour would be complete without at least a one night stop in Bavaria, well known for its beer. Apart from the beer to be tasted there is lots to seen in that town. The next day's ride will lead us to Ehingen, a beautiful town at the southern fringe of the Schwäbische Alb. Here we visit the brewery that is part of the hotel and get some insights into the beer-making process. On we ride to Rothaus, were on our first rest day we can sample some of the best roads of the Black Forest and venture into Switzerland. Again the brewery is located right next to the hotel, so the beer served at the bar and in the beer garden is guaranteed to be fresh.
The next day, curvy roads will lead us through the Black Forest and Alsace into France. Vineyards will line the roadside as we move across the Rhine valley towards France. After a night in Nancy we continue on to Reims, where on our second rest day, we can trace the origins of Champagne and visit the impressive cathedral, where the kings of France were crowned for 700 years. Our next destination is the Belgian city of Dinant, where we will have a chance to figure out the differences between Belgian and German beers. Twisty roads through the Ardennes mountains take us to Erpeldange in Luxemburg, a tiny country, boasting not only 157 banks, but also beautiful scenery, good beer and many castles. Back in Germany, we will sample the roads of the Eifel region, with an optional visit to the famous „Nürburgring“ race track. After a night in Cochem, we will follow the Mosel and Rhine valley back to Frankfurt, where a trip of a lifetime comes to an end.
