The Shangri La tour has to be one of the best tours I have had the pleasure of taking. After leaving the busy streets of Chengdu, we entered a world that few westerners get to experience. The highlight was the mountain pass just after the spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge – the switchbacks got the heart racing and the locals turned out to cheer us on. It was fantastic. Fortunately the weather was superb and our venture into Tibet was everything that I imagined – the culture stimulated the mind and the scenery stimulated the senses. Awesome. This really was a trip of a lifetime!
