Adventure Altiplano AAP

Argentina   |  Bolivia   |  Chile

You haven't been to South America, if you haven't seen the amazing Altiplano.

One of the greatest adventures - Let‘s explore the Altiplano on our motorcycle tour through South America. Bolivia, being a poor country in terms of economy, is at the same time one of the richest countries in the world in terms of culture, spectacular scenery and incredible motorcycle riding.

Shortly after our take off in Arica we will climb from sea level high up into the Andes. La Paz is our destination and well known as the highest capital in the world, and from there we will explore the Yungas on the world famous Yungas Road, also known as the “Death Road“. Having visited the highest capital in the world, we have to see the highest lake in the world, too, don‘t we? That will be Lake Titicaca. From there we will head for another world-record highlight, the famous Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt lake in the world. We leave the high Andes and approach the nice, welcoming town of Tarija. Back into the Andes we get to enjoy Paso de Jama, a beautiful mountain pass at 13,000 ft.

Though getting close to the tour‘s end, we are still continuously overwhelmed by the scenery around us, the great roads we ride and the little traffic and few people we meet during the day.

Testimonials

Adventure Altiplano

Having participated in seven tours with Edelweiss Bike Travel, our favorite tour is the Adventure Altiplano. The tour was well organized, the tour guides were outstanding, and the group was harmonious and fun. Completing this trip was a challenge, but doable for both of us. We were rewarded with fascinating landscapes (the Atacama desert, the Altiplano – passes of the Andes at an altitude over 14,750 ft.), as well as many unique experiences like the ride along the Ruta de la Muerte or the Salar de Uyuni. The memories collected will accompany us for a lifetime and our anticipation for the next Edelweiss Adventure tour is high.
