Best of Europe - BOE2302
Our "Best of Europe Tour 2302" started on Friday with the "Welcome Briefing" 5.00 o ´clock! But before Kimberly and Ron, James, John, Larry joint us for a GCT (Guided City Tour) through Munich! First Stop for a typical "Withe Sausage" Breakfast" by the "Schneider Brewhouse" provided enough energy for the Day! 11.00 we saw and hear on Marienplace the "Glockenspiel" for 10 Minutes and continue to the Munich Landmark "Frauenkirche" woman church)! Our stroll through Munich ended up in the world famous "Hofbräuhaus" to have Lunch!
Riding Day one, ERDING-ROTHENBURG o.d.Tauber, strode - as every riding Day - with Breakfast, bring personal Luggage to the Van-Driver and daily Briefing of the Rout, Coffee break, Lunch and so on! Last break at the beautiful "old Town" in DINKELSBUEHL with a "special Experience! We stopped for a really good Icecream and parked "nearby"! The Policeman went by and informed us that is not allowed to park here! We expected a big Ticket, but he was very friendly nad gave us no penalty, instead he informed us "please don't do that next time, then it will be very expensive! And he made some advice where to park next time! Thank so much, Sir!
On the second day, every body showed up for an early breakfast again and was very motivated to take off directly after the daily breifing, informing us of what is in store for the day. During the ride we visited the Schöntall monestary from the 12th century, where we had a lovely cup of coffie and had a look around the beautifull church. For lunch we had a wonderfull picknick with local specialities at a beautifull picniick spot. Nice and relaxing lunch to give us energy to continue the tour. After everybody checked in and had a shower, we took the cable car down from the hotel to the old town center of Heidelberg. Some beers in a small brewery were the perfect way to prepare for dinner, and afterr that ready for bed to get some well deserved rest.
Today we had a very a wonderfull ride trough the Black forrest towards France. Lots of winding roads with beautifull backdrops to keep us going all day. The first hour consisted of mostly 'Autobahn' and some High speed driving down the Highway, setting new personal speed records for some daring Guests. The rest of the day we luckily had a lot more turns and could enjoy the small and narrow roads trough the black forrest. Some of the wildlife came so close that it desided to travel in the Helmnet with one of the Guests. Bee and Rider we unharmed, but it caused for a small delay and a change of Lunch plans, that still resulted in a nice lunch at a beautifull location. A nice Dinner in a beautifull old town was a wonderfull end to a resource full day
During the rest day, everybody had the opportunity to do whatever they wanted. Some guys went to a Harley Dealership to get some T-shirts, others had a relaxing dasy walking trough town and enjoying the sauna at the hotel. We went out with 3 riders to visit the Königsbourg (kings castle) and enjoy a beautiffull ride trough the Elsas area. Another beautifull sunny day with lots of nice views and great turns
After the rest day we all got back on our bikes, to make our way towards Schwitzerland back trough Germany. After we crossed the border and filled our bikes, we drove back in to the Black Forrst and stopped at the 'Hexenloch Muhle' the Witches mill. Where we had a look inside the old water powered saw mill and the Klockmaker. And off course we had to try the famous Black Forrest cake. After we left the Black Forrst, we arrived at our Picknick spot for the day, where Ramon prepared us a lovely Picknick with warm 'Leberkäse' and other local specialties. Once we got to Schwitzerland, we stopped at the Rhine Waterfall and took a short boat trip to take a closer look at the waterfall, and cool off from the lovely spray from the water coming down.
The sixt day of our trip was a slightly longer one. Because we wanted to make an extra stop at the Hardley Davidson dealership, we all had to get up a little earlier, so we could be on our bikes bij 8 am. A lovely easy morning drive brought us to the HD store and ment we could get some t-shirts as souvenirs. Followed bij a stop at the indian dealership where we had some coffee, and a few small snacks to give us the energy to go on. Lunch today was an absolute hghlight. Ariving at the Santis mountain, we took the cable car up to the top where we had a stunning 360 degree view of the mountains around. Some typical local dishes were on the menu on the top, before we came back down again. Once we crossed the border to austria, we had the luck that the Furkapass opened at the beginning of this week, so we could cross this beautifull road of our to do list as well. We had a few drips at the top, but this wasnt rain, just a few drips to cool us off a little bit.
