BMW Motorrad Days 2024 - Alpine Serenity & Venetian Charm SPT24079
Our riding day starts late, we have to catch up the welcome briefing. The plane of our Korean guests was late the day before. Our route for today starts easy, nice long curves, easy traffic. Perfect to get used to the bikes. After a while we stop in Wasserburg a. Inn for a coffee. An accordion is entertaining us. Next stop is our lunch break at the lakeside of Chiemsee. The group starts bonding. Korean culture is helping a lot with that! After a long first day we're just make it to dinner in beautiful Vötters in Kaprun. The hotelstaff is the best, they even open up the privately owned car museum in the basement. At the dinner we welcome a surprise guest. Rainer, our CEO, is joining the ride for a couple of days. Good start for a good trip with a good group!
We're starting our second day earlier as usual. Edelweissspitze on top of the Großglockner High Alpine Road awaits us. We visit the citycenter of Gmünd for a lunch and the privately owned Porsche Museum. In the afternoon we enjoy a nice ride on the Nockalmroad. Perfect second day!
The route brings us firstly to the curvy and empty roads at Nassfeld and finally we are arriving in the legendary Dolomites. Definetly a highlight on this trip. The scenery is just stunning! After the great day even Rainer helps with fueling up all the 14 bikes. The evening is getting long, we are laughing from deep of our lungs. The group of strangers is becomming friends.
Our day starts rainy. Today we are just lucky on Passo Giau, best weather with the best view. From there the rain is chasing us. We find shelter on Passo Duran. While we use the chance to heat up and dry our gloves - at least a little - hail is falling from the skies. As soon as the rain stops, we continue and follow Val de Mis to a small little shack at Lago del Mis. They serve us delicous toasts. From here we're just running from the rain and are unfortunately not successful. Completely wet but still with a good mood we arrive in Mestre. Just on the other side of Venice.
Today just a two riders start their engines. Weather is beautiful. First stop is on top of Monte Pizzac. We overlook the whole Po-delta. At least it looks like this. One switchback is following the next, tight little roads are leading us over Monte Cavallo to our lunch stop at Lago di Barcis. The water is blue like the caribbean sea. Who would have guessed, there's this lake in the middle of the alps? The road is closed off ahead of us, so we head directly to the hotel, so we can still make it to Venice.
We are missing the curvy roads of the Alps so we are heading back to higher altidute. On our way we stop in Bossano del Grappa where a Ferrari meeting is happening. Ferrari Cavalcade 2024 is in town. For our stop we climb Monte Grappa. On our way to Bolzano we make friends on the way. We meet David Bosa, participant of the world championships. We invite him to join us for dinner. The evening is fun. We also make friends with the Argentinian Edelweiss group. We're having fun!
The track for today looks short but it is just awesome. We ride the through the smallest villages, through vineyards and orchards. Weather is beautiful. We check out some italian pizza and head to our todays destination beautiful Bolzano with its jawdropping scenery.
Our last riding day starts. We're meeting our argentinian friends on top of Passo Pennes. After cruising the Jaufenpass we finally arrive at one of the highlights of this trip. Timmelsjoch is just stunning and the motorcycle museum is impressive.
