Alps and Lakes

We start to wash and check the bikes that they are ready to handover, and we get the welcome-briefing room prepared, and so we are looking forward to get to know our guest from US, Canada, and Israel.
On our first day of driving today, we headed south to the first of Bavaria's smaller hilly landscapes. We made our first stop in Wasserburg am Inn and were able to enjoy the spectacular view of the town from above. The highlight was the Herrenchiemsee Island with its castles and, among other things, the King Ludwig Museum. After we went to Salzburg, we had an extraordinary dinner in the evening - a three-course menu with musical accompaniment, also known as the Mozart Dinner. k
We started in Salzburg on still dry weather conditions. It didn't follow the forecast so we had to switch into our rain gear. But we were lucky to have still good sight into the spectacular mountain ranges of the Bavarian and Austrian Alps. We did the bus tour up to the eagles nest and visited the Dokumentationcenter of Obersalzberg including the remains of the bunker system. After lunch we had 2 hours to our hotel in pouring rain and we were happy to get out of the weather.
Today the route took us from Gemunden to Kaprun, below the breathtaking Kitzsteinhorn glacier. After eating the famous croissants in Bad Ischl, which were also baked for Franz Josef, we went to a technology museum. After a lovely picnic by the lake, we headed to the famous town and photo icon of Hallstatt. Over several passes, including along the Hochkönig, we then headed to our great motorcycle hotel.
Today is our restday. But on this day everything is auround Grossglockner. The first just touristic road in the Austrian Alps was constructed in the 1930s but finished after WWII. Today located within the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern it is a magnet for all Bikers in the world. See our pics......
Today is our last riding day. We leave the Austrian Alps, passing famous ski-resorts and again beautiful alpine lakes. After lunch we will say good by to Austria and heading forwards to Bavaria. When we finally reach Erding, having a farewelldinner together we can plan our next tour and having a fresh draft wheat-beer from the "Erdinger"
