12. + 13. Via Chefchaouen back to Malaga The last two days on tour - and still we had fantastic weather conditions riding back from Fes through the mountains to Chefchaouen and back to Malaga, Spain! Your tour guides say a big thank you to all of you guys, sharing such a marvellous time in Morocco! It has been really great! Looking forward to riding with you again somewhere on the planet ;) On the way back... Winfried and Dorit... ...Peter and Ingrid... ... Alban and... ...Stefan and Gerda... ...and Rudi and Gertrude are enjoying the loop through the mountains! 10. + 11. From Erfoud to Fes & Restday in Fes Today's ride from Erfoud to Fes runs along the Ziz valley - great roads that allow you to float along through amazing landscape! Here in Fes we spend the rest day walking the old medina - a world cultural heritage site! It is unbelievable what these Moroccan people produce in the pottery! Every single tile is handmade! And you can find them all over the country! A must-see, of course, is the tannery! 8. + 9. From Boumalne to Erfoud and the desert camp The desert day... Ursula was preparing another picnic in what was supposed to be desert area - this spring, though, the whole area was covered in green... The unusual amount of water caused the abundant grow of plants all over the place. What a fantastic place that is! Sorry, this is an insider joke ;) We also had some "guests" at the picnic ;) Desert Bob on his Harley :) The majority of our group took the ride on the camel into the desert camp. Off we went to spend the night in-between the sand dunes :) Meanwhile Charlene and Mark have already adapted to Berber style :) The hotel in Erfoud is just awesome! They offer all the food you can think of - and it tastes soooo good! 7. From Ait Benhaddou to the Gorge du Dades Morning briefing... these tour guide maps live a hard life, eh Ursula? ;) :) Ait Benhaddou - a popular destiantion for the film industry... ...so are the Atlas film studios. What looks pretty impressive in the movies is all small and fake in reality... ;) Bob taking advantage of the Asterix & Obelix sculptures... In the meantime, David took care of our lunch. Nothing beats a take-away lunch ;) The afternoon ride in the Gorge du Dades offers absolutely stunning views! 6. Riding Day - Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou we made it out of Marrakech and than the good riding starts up the Titz`n Tichka look at Bernadette - the only woman on the bike   It`s Easter time   What a group Our new Tourguide:-)       In Telouet - Ali is doing the guide through the Glaoui Kashbah     The Atlas mountains always around us  No comment   Ride on Bob   5. The rest day's ride from Marrakech to the Ourika valley and up to Jebel Toubkal - Morocco's highest mountain! Beat and Roy where enjoying this amazing ride together with Angela         On top of Mount Toubkal   One of the Kashbahs in the Ourika valley 5. Day - Restday Marrakech the Bahia Palace was the first stop on our guided city tour through Marrakech     a lot of fun and new information about Moroccan herbs in a traditional pharmacy     4. Riding Day - Rabat-Casablanca Charlene has the smallest luggage ever on an Edelweiss Tour. Their suitcases didn`t arrive in Malaga. They were supposed to be sent to Rabat - but negative. Buying underware in the Souk of Rabat was an experience for life time. Despite all these guys are super relaxed. After a huzzle and buzzle through Casablanca city traffic we arrived at the King Hassan II Mosque - the world third biggest and the only one on Morocco you can visit. We had a guided tour - meanwhile the girls went to BMW Casablance and get a battery changed :-)   Peter is looking forward to a fantastic lunch at the Atlantic ocean.   Bernadette and Mark from Sasketchew enjoying the warm weather Bob on the brand new Edelweiss Harley - the first one the company bought, more are orderd. We are Authorised Harley Partners in 2015 and have some awesome Harley Tours - Yeahh!!!! In Bob`s room last night in Rabat there were some rumors???? A big mirror crashed from the wall.  But we supposed the room was just too small for so many belly dancers :-)     Roy from the United States     Stefan and Gerda from Austria   Yummehhh, yummehh....   3. Riding Day - Chefchaouen - Rabat It is still chilly outside - they lighted the fireplaces.  Mark and Bernadette enjoying Moroccan breakfast.   Fraktion Österreich - und immer was zum Lachen.  2. Riding Day - Ceuta - Chefchaouen The border crossing into Morocco was the challenge of the day. We filled in some forms already in the Parador in Ceuta and we filled in much more at the border - we got senseless stamps into the passport, on the forms, here and there, we needed signs, endless queuing up, but.... after 2 hours we were in!!! First coffe in Mdik, changing our US-Dollars, Canadian-Dollars and Euros into Dirham. Despite a bit of rain we had a beautiful ride along the coast to Oued Laou. The first Taijne and fresh fish introduced us to Morrocan food. Our destination for tonight was Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains - rain and 5 degrees!! The hot welcome peppermint tea was delicious. Chefchaouen - the town expanded 1494 with the arrival of Jewish refugees from Granada. The Jewish built the whitewashed houses, with tiny balconies, tiledroofs and patios with a tree growing. Christians were forbidden to enter on pain of death until 1920.   Everybody enjoyed our hotel "Casa Hassan" - a typical Morrocan Riad. The 2 tourguide ladies enjoyed especially the warm Hammam :-)   Papa Smurf :-)  - Alban from Berlin - he bought one of the traditional cothes for Moroccan men. He left all warm clothes back home in Germany.     Who is it???? 1. Riding Day - Malaga - Ceuta we hoped on the highway direction Gibraltar. The weather was not quite good, but luckily on top of the Gibraltar Rock we had sunshine   Rudi and Gertrude enjoying the sunshine and the view. After spending the whole winter in Spain with her motorhome, they decided before going home to do the Edelweiss Morocco Tour - good decision!     Beautiful view over the Strait of Gibraltar   The lazy monkey of Gibraltar   Winfried and Dorit   Waiting for the ferry in Algeciras   Last view to this massive rock Africaaaa - we are coming....
