Mediterranean Alps Extreme

Day 1

Arrival in St Paul de Vence

Tom from California took the plane , Reinhold from Germany made it on his own BMW 1600 to here, over 1000 km. The weather is fine and we look forward to a great tour. The first dinner was special with outstanding food.

Day 2

St Paul de Vence - Valberg - 299 km

Our first riding day was perfect, lots of twisty roads, sunshine and spectacular canyons. We all enjoyed it very much. Reinhold and Tom are good riders and can handle the challenging roads pretty well.

Day 3

Restday Valberg - 280 km

Of course everybody went in the restday ride. Very intentense riding all day long. We had a lot of fun in the twisties! And the lookout at chappel near Utelle was wonderful.

Day 4

Valberg  - Vicoforte  285 km

Today was the day of the passes. The most famous one was the Col de Turini, well known for the Rally Monte Carlo and the Tour de France. Now we are in Italy and we had a warm welcome with great antipasti.

Day 5

Vicoforte  - Rapallo - 280 km

Our destination for today was the Mediterranean. On some challenging backcountry roads we made it to Rapallo. Some fantastic views over the snowcovered Alps on the way.

Day 6

Restday Rapallo - 270 km

Again nobody wanted to rest! So we went for a intense ride along the coast to Chinque Terre with magnificent scenery great lunch and perfect weather. On the way back we did a great loop through the mountains.

Day 7

Rapallo  - Finale - 250 km

Some really narrow roads today and some potholes too,  but we had fun and great views over the Mediterranean.

Day 8

Finale  - St Paul  - 270 km

Unfortunately the last day was rainy, but we still had some fun. We visited 2 medieval villages,  one in Italy called Zuccarello and one in France called Peille. And a view over Monaco we had as well. Everybody made it safe back to the hotel im St Paul. What a great tour!

Those are some great photos of the natural surroundings. Love that the boots and helmet made cameo appearances along with the bikes. I hope that means you dipped your toes in the water. I'm looking forward to hearing about the castle - stunning. Looks like you guys were barely squeezing through some of those streets; that's the beauty of traveling on motorcycles. Keep the pictures coming, they are a joy to view.

We received the video footage this morning. I enjoy seeing the route you are traveling through. It makes me feel as though I am experiencing the landscape and local areas along with you. What a treat to experience the fabulous countryside in beautiful weather, eat delicious food, and enjoy good company.

What beautiful views! The alps are stunning, the towns look charming, the skies are clear and the rides must be awesome. I love the pictures. The winding road must have been fun to travel. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of this amazing trip.
