Hi Bikers out there... We are somewhere in the middle of Morocco - it is just great! First we all met in Malaga, Southern Spain - where we all get our motorcycles. Then we visited the famous "Rock of Gibraltar", before we crossed over by ferryboat to Africa! Malaga in the morning, not too bad, or? The "Rock" of Gibraltar! Let´s look for the monkeys... going on the ferry - Africa is waiting for us! Our first night on the road we spent in the beautiful port town of Ceuta, which is still spanish, even it is on the African continent - interesting, or??? On our second day we crossed the chaotic border into Morocco, where we spent a night in the Rif mountains. Great Riding in the Rif Mountains: Klaus on a brandnew GS! Jens and the group - welcome to Africa! Gerhard on the road... Chefchaouen is a great little town, everything is painted in blue white... On day 3 we continued South to the capital of Morocco - Rabat. on the road to Moulay Bousselham... what a beach!!! Rabat in the evening: Hassan Tower and Mausoleum just great architecture! Day 4 four was quite interesting, lots of rain to Casablanca, and later on to Marrakesh... who said it never rains in Africa... (picture from an old trip....) this time we had tooooooo much rain.... Marrakesh - what a city: Our restday was great, the old town and the Souks of Marrakesh are amazing!(even if we had rain and some very strong winds...) which music we should buy: ARAB or BERBER.... On Day 5 we crossed the Atlas Mountains into the desert... Check out the scenery! somewhere in the Atlas... Happy people!!! Günther and Inge Hasso So we made it to Ouarzazate - the next day we went to visit the "world famous Movie Studios" - have a look: Rita made new friends! Somewhere in Tibet... Gabriele und Georg... Egypt??? what a trip... Lutz and Nicole leaving Ouarzazate - on the "Route of the Kasbahs" somewhere....but happy! in the "Dades Canyon" great spot for a Picnic! Hasso and Gerhard great riding, or??? After a night in our beautiful hotel in Boumalne we continued today to Erfoud, the last town before the Saharian desert... But before we visited the wonderful "Gorge du Todra" ehhh, what I forgot to say, today is a national holiday, it looks like everybody was praying together - people are very nice in Morocco! little traffic jam before the Canyon... Look what the people eat at their holiday - fresh sheep! and then into the Todra Canyon local Berber people... Did he get already Moroccan citizenship???? (Uwe) Lynne on the road! Max - a little tired... camels on the road! Lynne and the Camel Great Picnic in the desert!!! Later we approached to Erfoud, where we stayed in a wonderful hotel, have a look: We stayed two nights at the Kasbah Xaluca - a great place to explore the nearby sand dunes of Merzouga... the gate of Rissani and further South to the Hotel Tombuctou, where we tried to find some camels... thanks god, eh Allah... only the last 500 meters are unpaved...but the pictures look great... The Tombuctou Hotel is ideal to access the Sand dunes, it doesn´t matter if you ride camels or Offroad vehicles: the caravan is leaving... and these guys like the desert too: The brandnew Merzouga Rally! Günther - is it hot??? Okay, enough desert, yesterday we crossed the Atlas mountains again - it was really an experience to see Morocco snow covered!!! Peter along the road - somewhere... nobody expected snow in Morocco... see you... Finally we made to Fes - in daylight! Here we spent our last rest day and again we had a very interesting city tour - never go alone into the Medina!!! the "Blue gate" - the most beautiful entrance to the old town people all over... lunch time? Inge, Günther and Ahmed, best guide of Morocco typical moroccan worker... the tannery, maybe the hardest work in the old town and finally - Angela and her new jacket: Our last riding day in Morocco brought us back to the town of Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains. Along the road of course we had to visit the famous Roman sight of "Volubilis". Later on the main square of Chefchaouen we had our last mint teas - a good place to think about what we have seen in the last two weeks - it is really amazing... Just some last words - Morocco is the perfect Mix of Orient and Occident, close to Europe but still far away - and a lot more to see than just desert - easy to travel and still and adventure - what do you think??? The best way to explore this country of course is by motorcycle!!! Local Berber Biker somewhere in the Saharian desert... We had a great time with all of you!!! Your Tourguides Angela, Scott and Jens
