Eastern European Delight CEE2302
Today we start in Vienna. But before we really get going, we'll make a stop at a motorbike shop. We need to secure our luggage. But now quickly out of Vienna into the beautiful surrounding area. We'll soon reach our first "border" - there really aren't any more in Europe. But there has to be a picture. actually we don't want to stop at all .... much too hot .... but we also have to drink. Important !!! But let's take a quick look at our highlight, the Lednice Castle. Then we continue to the hotel in Kromeriz.
Today we're going to Romania and we're looking for Dracula We want to cross two borders today. And it is to be hoped that it will not be too hot as we pass the Pusta of Hungary. Before that, a short photo stop from Füzer Castle. Visiting a winery promises cooling off in the vaults. Entry is granted to us as we each buy a bottle of wine. Which turned out to be an absolute stroke of luck. After the seemingly never-ending journey through Hungary, we reach the Romanian border. after 10 we were through, what luck. through the traffic in Oradea and we reach our destination for the day
Are we meeting Dracula?? An hour earlier in Romania and it's still cool. We're getting ready for the longest day of driving. Get on the motorbike and go. The Apuseni mountains are waiting for us, what fun to rob the curves. Many kilometers are waiting for us and some cows on the road. A storm is reported in Alba Lulia... I do we make it? Dry ? After 385 km we arrive happy, dry and thirsty in Sighsoara. Showers and a bit of a look at the city before we plan another great dinner and thunderstorms for the next day.
How many thunderstorms? What a great start to the day ? The night before at dinner a mega nice thunderstorm including a bear warning. Two more thunderstorms during the night, heavy rain in the morning and just in time for departure... sunshine. when Angels travel ...... Dracula visits his castle and then curves curves curves Transfagarasan our highlight today 2048 meters and voted the best road in the world by Top Gear. what a brilliant day!!!
