Atlantic Mountains Extreme - 4CI240A
After yesterdays welcome briefing on Tenerife at the Costa Adeje we had an early morning start in order to catch the ferry to beautiful La Gomera. Here we just arrived and ready to ride the rollercoaster! First stop at the Roque Agando, the remaining magma parts of a huge volcano whereas the "rest" around eroded over the past million years... And I may introduce our great riders from right to left: Mauricio, Jose, Alberto, Eduardo, Enrique y Mario! Viva Mexico!! At the Abrante mirador...however the "official" glass bottom part closed today...come on it is a Monday :-) A quick stop of the flight 111 in the UNESCO world heritage National Park Garajonay... Cerca de la comida, a lookout point over the Valle Gran Rey, today a bit hazy but smiles on the faces! Mario y Enrique at the Caleta beach.. ...and ready to ride again over the mountains to our beautiful hotel tonight
These amazing ferries between the islands, the fast and the furios :-) bringing us back to Tenerife ...and finally we arrived on the moon :-) ...en Las Canadas ...now in or on the oldest part of Tenerife, the Teno mountains, stunning scenery, stunning road! Here the whole gang :-) Enrique and Alberto at Masca just awsome
Today another stunning landscape, the Teide from the East And Jose on the picture ...and futuristic ...and leaving beautiful Tenerife but another great one to come! Una falta: Eduardo. 10 km only to go in order to reach our nice hotel. What a ride today! Amazing view from our hotel!
Today we spend the whole day on Gran Canaria enjoying the fantastic roads, steep terrain, barrancos, volcano craters...just wow! At the Bandama Caldera.... Pico de las Nieves... ...and a super ride through the Barranco de Tejeda! ...towards the final of the Barranco ride Towards the end of our great tour today we explore Artenara with its houses half built into caves. And we enjoy the view into the Caldera de Tejeda.. ...and Miguel de Unamuno listening to us :-)
We had an early start from the top of the mountain where we stayed for the last two nights. It is windy though the air is crystal clear...On twisty narrow roads we find our way down in one of the many barrancos to the harbor in Agaete. After one and a half hours we arrive on Tenerife and - of course with this group:-) - we take the long way back to our start hotel. We ride once more up through the Corona Forestal and fly down to Güimar in order to take the TF-28, an amazingly never ending curvy road. What a ride and accordingly no fotos! :-)) Okay, one coffee and one foto And our group at the farewell dinner... Thank you very much Alberto, Jose, Mario, Eduardo, Mauricio and Enrique for a great ride on these beautiful islands! Muchas gracias! Holger
