Argentinians en route to BMW Days in Garmisch (SPT24091)
It is hot on our first day as we make our way towards the mountains. 35°C/95°F make us look forward to riding up the Großglockner High Alpine Road. Where is was a bit hazy today and the views far from perfect, but the air was fresh and cool and traffic was only light. What a great ride! Hace calor en nuestro primer día mientras nos adentramos en las montañas. A 35°C/95°F, estamos esperando con impaciencia el viaje por la carretera alpina del Grossglockner. Hoy hay un poco de niebla y la vista dista mucho de ser perfecta, pero el aire es fresco y el tráfico es escaso. ¡Qué gran viaje!
What we had today was a stunning, amazing riding day in the Dolomites. Yes, there was a bit of traffic but that couldn't diminish the good time we had. Lo que hemos vivido hoy ha sido un día impresionante y fantástico en los Dolomitas. Sí, estaba un poco ajetreado, pero eso no ha podido restar valor a la gran experiencia que hemos vivido.
Today was a good day to take a break from riding as the weather was quite unpleasant. A small group of three set off in the morning to take advantage of the two dry hours, the rest went to downtown Bolzano for some entertainment, coffee, and food. All in all it was a good, relaxing day.
The morning greeted us with blue skies and sunshine, but also with chilly air, leftover from the recent thunderstorm. It was perfect riding weather and what a ride we had!!! Countless curves and two major passes, all topped off by a tasty do-it-yourself picnic and - later - by some ice-cold boot beer. Best day so far? You bet! La mañana nos recibió con cielos azules y sol, pero también con el aire fresco que había dejado la reciente tormenta. Hacía un tiempo perfecto para rodar y ¡¡¡menudo viaje!!! Innumerables curvas y dos grandes puertos, además de un delicioso picnic casero y, más tarde, una cerveza de bota helada. ¿El mejor día hasta ahora? Por supuesto.
The weather was still fine when we left Levico Terme. We then met Tobias at Lago di Toblino, who accompanied us further on. Around midday it became foggy and then we drove over the Bernina Pass in the rain to Pontresina to spend a night in Switzerland. El tiempo seguía siendo bueno cuando salimos de Levico Terme. En el Lago di Toblino nos encontramos con Tobias, que nos acompañó más adelante. Hacia el mediodía empezó a nublarse y atravesamos el puerto de Bernina bajo la lluvia hasta Pontresina para pasar la noche en Suiza.
Today is was time to split the group in two. After shooting our group picture right outside of St. Moritz, Bernie took the Long Riders across Gavia Pass (and 4 others), while Tom introduced the Short Riders to Albula and Flüela as well as to some outstanding Rösti. The Swiss national dish has never tasted so good!!! In the afternoon, everybody went shopping around Livigno. Tomorrow, there will be 50% more luggage... Hoy tocaba dividir el grupo en dos. Después de hacernos la foto de grupo a las puertas de St. Moritz, Bernie condujo a los moteros largos por el paso del Gavia (y otros 4), mientras Tom presentaba Albula y Flüela a los cortos y les daba un excelente rösti. ¡El plato nacional suizo nunca había estado tan bueno! Por la tarde todo el mundo se fue de compras a Livigno. Mañana habrá un 50% más de equipaje...
We celebrated our last riding day with a glorious blue-sky ride across the famous Stelvio Pass. Its 87 tight switchbacks are a challenge and great fun at the same time. Bruno welcomed us with his signature hotdogs, definitely the best up here on the pass. A few hours later, we arrived in Seefeld, our gateway to the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch. Celebramos nuestro último día de ruta con un maravilloso paseo bajo un cielo azul por el famoso Paso del Stelvio. Las 87 estrechas curvas en horquilla son un reto y una gran diversión al mismo tiempo. Bruno nos recibió con sus legendarios rollitos de salchicha, sin duda los mejores del puerto. Unas horas más tarde llegamos a Seefeld, nuestro punto de partida para los Días BMW Motorrad en Garmisch.
Today, after lunch, we head to Garmisch for the BMW Days. Of course, we'll also be sampling Bavarian beer, so we'll be taking the bus and train. The atmosphere in Garmisch is much better than at the previous events in Berlin. This is certainly also due to the surroundings, mountains instead of a city. In the evening, after everyone has visited the exhibitors of their choice, the whole group celebrates extensively in the VIP tent before the adventurous journey back to Seefeld. Hoy, después de comer, nos vamos a Garmisch para asistir a las Jornadas BMW. Como, por supuesto, también se degustará cerveza bávara, viajaremos en autobús y tren. El ambiente en Garmisch es mucho mejor que en los anteriores eventos de Berlín. Sin duda, esto se debe también al entorno, montañas en lugar de ciudad. Por la noche, después de que cada uno haya visitado los expositores de su elección, todo el grupo celebra en la carpa VIP antes del aventurero viaje de regreso a Seefeld.
