SPT 24069 Alps Extreme
Welcome to the first Day of the Tour My name is Axel and in the next days i will guide our groupe through the heart of the Alps and Domlomites. But before we start with the ride we will have our Welcome Briefing today and of course the handover of the bikes which i brought with me from the snowy mountains higher above Innsbruck. Yes Snow - in the last couple of days the The Alps get covered in snow but the good news are it suposed get better from monday so we cross the fingers that it will be soon warmer like a week ago 30 C. But anyway we will have a great time. And if i said great time this time starts with Edelweiss at the Welcome Briefing and that why i will take of to the meeting room to meet all the riders and passengers of this tour. See you later Axel
Good morning GoodMorning - Today is our first riding day!!! Because of the unexpected snow over the last few days, we started a little later than usual and that meant we didn't set off until 10am to avoid any chance of slippery roads. The route through Innsbruck was quite easy as everyone was still asleep on a Sunday. And in the moment when Innsbruck disappeared in the mirror, our journey began. Driving through the Inn Valley might not sound that exciting, but when the mountains high above us are covered in snow!!! That's something special!!! With the sun on our faces, we made our way to Piller Höhe, which was our first photo stop of the day and also our lunch stop. As you can see from the pictures, this was a very successful start to the tour. What a breathtaking view up here. After Strudel, Burger and Co. we continued towards the Kauntertal Glacier. And we were lucky - the road was dry with no ice - perfect for enjoying an unforgettable mountain stage. Admittedly it was fresh high up, maybe really fresh for our Brazilians, but it was worth it. Days like today are unique because how often do you have a combination like this - snowy mountains and dry roads that allow you to experience this on a motorcycle. As I said, the roads and the landscape were really unique today with the snow and even for me, who is more or less a local, it was an impressive day. After all that, it was time to ride up the last mountain to our hotel today in Fiss, which is high above the valley and where we will spend the first night on tour. Well and tomorrow we will cross the border from Austria into Italy and stay in Italy for the next few days, so stay tuned for more. See You Axel
Now the time has come - it's time for us to move on First stop of the day was the Reschensee and at the same time the first stop on the Italian side, where there is a church tower directly in the lake - very famous, but also a sad story - you can google why or you can come on tour with us and we will tell you the story directly on site. But believe me!!! Hearing the story on the spot is much better. From there we continued down to the small town of Glurns. Normally we continue from there up to the Passo dello Stelvio, but today it wasn't possible due to the wintry conditions up there. So we continued on towards Bolzano. But going straight to Bolzano would be far too boring, so we turned off in Merano towards the mountains. Our destination was the Jaufen Pass. Let me put it this way - once again on this tour - breathtaking road and breathtaking landscape in XXXL format. The only thing that could be better was the temperature - it was damn cold at the top, but we made it to the other side to Sterzing, where we filled up the bikes after a coffee and continued on to Bolzano. Another highlight was a pass called Passo de Mendola just after Bolzano. What about that? The road was dry, the temperature was perfect and there was almost no traffic! What a joy at the end of today's ride and exactly that what we needed today!!! And now we are high above Bolzano on the Penegal, where we are staying for another night on this tour. All in all, we had a great day, even if we weren't lucky with the Stelvio. Tomorrow we will continue south and Levico will be our destination. See you tomorrow Axel
Many thanks to Peter for this great day!!!!!! When you wake up and the sky is blue and almost cloudless, you know it's going to be a memorable day! In our case, it was exactly like that. Once on the bikes, we rode down the Passo Mendola and immediately afterwards we headed north on narrow mountain roads, which was a real pleasure. The roads were completely dry and fantastically beautiful. What a fun it was to ride through the South Tyrolean countryside. We took a coffee break in the middle of the northern passage and I can tell you that the smiles on the faces needed no words. This day is definitely a reason why we ride motorcycles. From the coffee break, we continued towards the Passo delle Palade and down the other side to Cles. On the way there, we were literally surrounded by 60 million apple trees and that's no joke!!! South Tyrol is the apple center of Europe and they produce really good wines down here too. After a pizza for lunch, we continued on and Lago de Molveno was our next destination. For dessert we drove over the famous Monte Bodone and this road put once again a smile on our faces that we will keep until tomorrow. It was a brilliant day and warm and and and - words can not describe how relieved we were after the previous cold days. Tomorrow is a rest day, but we will meet up at 9am for the ride to Lake Garda. See you tomorrow Axel
If you take 7 Motorcycles + Sun + Great Roads and that in Italy together - Whatdo you get? A dreamlike day!!! And that discribes our day in any way. So we are close to the Lago di Garda and so we rode today to the lake and because we like to ride we to not the highway or some other borring roads. Nope we went over the Passes like Passo di Sommo to the lake and that was the kick off of the day and i put it that way - there are not that many pictures today because it was a riding day with friends. Where you enjoy the ride and stop when you need a coffee or something to eat. That is for sure one of the days we will remember forever. Thanks for this great ride today to the groupe!!!! And our Plan for tomorrow!!?? We will have our rollercoaster day tomorrow and what does it mean i will tell you tomorrow. So see you later Axel
Ladies and gentlemen it's playground / roller coaster day!!! We are going to spend a great day in the Dolomites - for me the best place to have a good time on a motorcycle. On top of that, it's a unique landscape where you sit on the terrace at the top of the pass and drink a double espresso - you look at the road where you came up and at your bike and everything in life makes sense. That's riding in the Dolomites. To get a little envious, here are some names of passes we've ridden: Passo de Manghen - Passo Rolle - Passo Cereda - Passo Duran - Passo Staulanza - Passo Giau and Passo Croci - that was on our To DO list today. It was a brilliant day - of course the weather could have been better today, but to be honest that would have just been the cherry on the cake A wonderful day comes to an end and we have certainly made some memories that will stay with us forever So see tomorrow for the last riding day Axel
One More Ride!!! It's the last day of the tour and I promised that riding to Innsbruck wouldn't be just be riding to Innsbruck!!! And I would say I was able to keep that promise, in 5 words: we had another great day. We left at 8:30am and it was sooooo worth it. Today I served the Furkelpass and the Würzjoch as a biker's breakfast and for lunch we rode up the Jaufenpass with sunshine on our faces. The highlight of the day was certainly the dessert - the Timmelsjoch + motorcycle museum!!!! What a day, just look at the pictures. I can tell you - this ride was no less impressive than the one the day before!!! At the end of the day, it was time to park the bikes one last time and hand the keys back to me. Sad, but hey, the end of the tour is just before the next!!!! We ended the tour the Italian way - we went to the center of Innsbruck for an XXL pizza evening. A brilliant finale where we raved about all the impressive moments/places.... we saw/experienced and even though we ate more than we should have this tour will stay forever in our heart. It was the perfect ending of teh tour. This was our last day of driving and I already miss the headlights in my mirror!!! Axel
The last chapter. I would like to thank you for the great trip with my Brazil Squat. Zack and I have become part of your Barzilien family and it has been a wonderful experience. I look forward to the next adventure with you all. Thanks again Axel
