New Zealand extension North NSX 2501

Restday Everybody enjoy the day
Well rested and full of enthusiasm, Beatrix and Hans Jürgen were on the motorcycle. First leave the traffic of Auckland behind and then immediately into the curves. Phia, a black beach, surfer paradise impresses us very much. The temperatures are just right. But do you have to train in the water with a karate suit? ;-) Relaxed driving, since Sunday. An interesting visit to the Kauri Museum, gives us an idea of how powerful these giant trees were. Tomorrow we can see one in nature.
I knew it but afterwards I knew it. It was supposed to be the best day for Beatrix and HansJürgen. Between breakfast and the descent three small showers came down. But after that the temperature was perfect. Moped drained for the third time and off we went. In fact, the first photo stop was after 7 km. The waterfall of Whangarei, after the rain very beautiful. When we were out of town, we had the street to ourselves, no traffic. Today we went in pink-pong across the island, from the east coast to the west coast and back to the east coast. The Baylis Beach impressed us with its rough sea. as far as the eyes reached, water. We continued to the Waipoua Kauri Forest. Beatrix said: "the drive through the rainforest alone, it was worth going on the extension!" In the middle of it is the TANE MAHUTA. God of the forest. two thousand years old, over 28 meters high and a circumference of 17 meters. We are not there yet. At Opononi Beach we have our leek stop. Then we also have a ferry ride ahead of us. A delicious ice cream at the pier and off we go. The surprise of the day was the Mangamuka Pass. This was completely closed for almost three years and was released for traffic today. Roller coaster at its best. A cream piece for every motorcyclist, what a fun. Finally, a little cooling down, but this did not take away our best mood after such a day. Now a beer and then to eat More tomorrow
Wake up in paradise. Today we leave the penisula again, unfortunately. But we should like it, we pass Mangonui, Toupō Bay, Matauri Bay and further Caribbean-like bays. Fantastic landscape and countless curves. In Kerikeri we enjoy our hot drink in a dreamy cafe. A very nice place to linger, with a view of the waterfowl in the water. Now the traffic will be a little denser, because we are coming to Waitangi. And right now the Te Rā o Waitangi Day is taking place. the most important festival of the Maori. Because on 6 2.1840 the oldest constitutional document of New Zealand in the Bay of Islands was signed, the Te Tiritio Waitangi. A great place to hold a picnic, just fantastic, sitting by the water and watching the long boats pass by. We then visited the Hundertwasser toilets and then went to Tukutaka our destination today. There were still a few great curves. Fall asleep in paradise today. Perfect day
At some point every journey comes to an end. Slowly we embark on our last trip, the last coffee, the last lunch. Again along the coast, you can hardly believe that you can bump into turquoise blue surfer beaches just before Auckland, beautiful. We enjoy every metre. What a wonderful conclusion. It was great to be on the road with you. It is an honour for me to show you the most beautiful end of the world See you soon Michaela
