Bienvenidos al Tour Cristóbal Colón - Edición Uruguay/Argentina Hoy dimos la bienvenida a nuestros invitados y presentamos el tour. El grupo ya se conoce bien y se lo está pasando genial. Como siempre, la entrega de las bicicletas conlleva pequeños cambios y explicaciones en los menús, etc. Por la noche, disfrutamos del primer menú y nos conocemos. La ilusión por el día siguiente crece. ¡Que se diviertan siguiéndolo! Welcome to the Christopher Columbus Tour - Edition Uruguay/Argentina Today we welcomed our guests and introduced the tour. The group already knows each other well and is having a lot of fun. As always, the bike handover leads to many small changes and explanations in the menus etc. In the evening, we enjoy the first menu and get to know each other. Bienvenidos al primer día de ruta. Sorprendentemente, cayó un chaparrón por la mañana y nos quedamos un poco atónitos. Pero después de la sesión informativa diaria, salió el sol y secó el asfalto. El grupo empezó como de costumbre y, al poco rato, ya habíamos calentado en las bicis. Pasamos los Pueblos Blancos y subimos por carreteras de montaña hasta la primera parada del día. Por suerte, había una furgoneta de churros abierta y la amable señora también estaba preparando café. ¡Genial! Luego refrescó un poco a 1200 m de camino a Ronda. ¡Menuda ruta! Ronda, como punto culminante del día, mereció la pena. Una comida deliciosa y luego un agradable paseo por el casco antiguo. La tarde también transcurrió tranquilamente. Fantásticas carreteras secas por la montaña y una breve parada para tomar un café, y ya estábamos en Sevilla. ¡Un gran primer día! Welcome to the first day of riding. Surprisingly, there was a short downpour in the morning and we were all briefly shocked. But after the informative daily briefing, the sun came out and dried our asphalt nicely. The group got off to a routine start and after a short time we were warmed up on the bikes. We pass the Pueblos blancos and climb some mountain roads to the first stop of the day. Luckily, a churros van is open and the nice lady is also preparing coffee. Wonderful. Then it got a bit chilly at 1200m on the way to Ronda. But what a route. Ronda as the highlight of the day was well worth it. A delicious meal and then a nice walk through the old town. The afternoon also went smoothly. Fantastic dry little roads through the mountains and a short café stop and we were already in Seville. A great first day!
El día de descanso de hoy estaba pensado para explorar Sevilla... o para dar una vuelta en moto. Todos decidieron aventurarse por su cuenta y disfrutar de la ciudad. Esto es especialmente atractivo en este momento, ya que además de los lugares de interés ya conocidos como la catedral, el mercado de abastos, el Alcázar, la Torre del Oro, la plaza de toros, etc., hay otra atracción: la feria de Sevilla, donde parece que media ciudad se reúne, vestida con trajes tradicionales, para tapear, disfrutar del flamenco y mucho más. Today's rest day was intended for either exploring Seville... or taking a ride on the motorbike. Everyone decided to venture out on their own and enjoy the city. This is especially appealing at the moment, as in addition to the already interesting highlights like the cathedral, market hall, Alcazar Palace, Torre del Oro, bull fight arena, etc., there's another attraction: a spring festival (feria de Sevilla), where it seems like half the city gathers – dressed in traditional clothing… for tapas, flamenco, and more.
Ayer, día de descanso y espectáculo pirotécnico cultural en Sevilla – hoy, el monumento a Colón y las tres naves (o al menos réplicas) con las que descubrió América – comida en la playa – cruce de frontera a Portugal y divertidas curvas en el segundo país de nuestro viaje – ¡y todo ello con un tiempo espléndido! Yesterday, a rest day and a cultural fireworks display in Seville – today, the Columbus monument and the three ships (or at least replicas) with which he discovered America – lunch on the beach – border crossing to Portugal and fun cornering in the second country of our trip – and all of this in beautiful weather!
We are once again greeted by bright sunlight this morning in Faro. The water glistens in the harbor and we enjoy an extensive breakfast with a view. Today we are heading for the Algarve with its spectacular cliffs and stunning colors. For lunch, Marc surprises us with a delicious picnic in a prime location. Benches in the shade and no wind. Super. Afterwards, some of us take advantage of the peace and warmth for a little nap. The afternoon is then a little more winding, with great views of the natural beauty of the Alentejo region. Wide meadows on hills with flowers and olive groves so far. Dreamlike in May. Esta mañana volvemos a ser recibidos por un sol radiante en Faro. El agua brilla en el puerto y disfrutamos de un abundante desayuno con vistas. Hoy nos dirigimos al Algarve, con sus espectaculares acantilados y sus impresionantes colores. A la hora de comer, Marc nos sorprende con un delicioso picnic en un lugar privilegiado. Bancos a la sombra y sin viento. Estupendo. Después, algunos aprovechamos la tranquilidad y el calor para echar una cabezadita. La tarde es entonces un poco más sinuosa, con grandes vistas de la belleza natural de la región del Alentejo. Amplias praderas en colinas con flores y olivares hasta ahora. De ensueño en mayo.
Día 6 de nuestro maravilloso viaje por la península Ibérica y tercer día en Portugal. Hoy disfrutamos de las sinuosas carreteras del país, disfrutamos de un excelente almuerzo en la costa y fuimos a Cabo Espichel, con su hermosa iglesia y faro. El destino: Lisboa, donde después descansaremos para disfrutar de la ciudad. Lo más destacado del día... es difícil decidirlo, ya que hubo muchos, pero el vino de Oporto de 10 años después de la cena fue definitivamente uno de ellos. Day 6 on our wonderful tour on the iberian peninsula - and 3rd day in Portugal. Today, we enjoyed fine winding roads in the country, had a great lunch at the coast and went to "Cabo Espichel" with its beautiful church and lighthouse. The destination: Lisbon - where we will then have a rest day to enjoy that city. Highlight of the day... hard to decide, as there were many - but the 10 year old port wine after dinner was definitely one of them!
Hoy ha sido un día de descanso y todos hemos podido explorar esta hermosa ciudad. Cada uno hizo sus propios planes. Algunos viajaron en un gran tuktuk, otros caminaron. Es maravilloso pasear por aquí. El tiempo ha sido excelente y hemos podido disfrutar del día. El paseo nos lleva por varios miradores, al animado Bairro Alto, pasando por la iglesia sin techo, el ascensor metálico, la tienda de pasteles de nata, hasta el río, el Pracio do Comercio, etc. Pudimos ver mucho. Por la noche, nos reunimos todos de nuevo para cenar y charlamos sobre el día. Parece que cada uno encontró lo que buscaba. Today was a rest day and we were all able to explore this beautiful city. Everyone made their own plans. Some took a big tuktuk, others walked. It's wonderful to let yourself drift here. The weather was excellent and we were able to enjoy the day. The walk takes us past several viewpoints, into the lively Bairro Alto, past the church without a roof, the metal elevator, the pastel de nata store, down to the river, the Pracio do Comercio and so on. We were able to see a lot. In the evening, everyone met up again for dinner and we talked about the day. It seems that everyone found what they were looking for.
Lisboa era una ciudad preciosa, interesante y vibrante... pero teníamos que irnos hoy, ¡al menos con el mejor tiempo! Para recorrer algo de distancia, recorrimos un trecho de carretera y luego hicimos una parada para tomar un café y visitar la casa de huesos de la iglesia en Évora. Después disfrutamos de las bonitas carreteras de potzgese, para luego ser sorprendidos por un picnic excepcional (gracias, Sebastián) en un lugar impresionante. Nuestro café fue en Elvas, antes de cruzar la frontera de vuelta a España, donde "perdimos" una hora debido a la diferencia horaria. Después de repostar las motos para mañana, llegamos a nuestro "castillo" para pasar la noche... ¡Guau, qué día! Lisbon was such a beautiful, interesting and vibrating city... but we had to leave today - at least in best weather conditions! To cover some distance, we tokk a bit of highway and then had our coffee stop and visited the churche's bone house in Evora. We then enjoyed the nice potzgese roads, just to the be surprised by an outstanding picknick (thanks Sebastian) at a breathtaking spot. Our coffee then was in Elvas, before crossing the border back into Spain, where we "lost" 1 hour due to the time difference. After fueling the motorcycles for tomorrow, we arrived at our "castle" for the night... Wow, what a day
