Tuscany by Scooter

Better said: "Benvenuti in Firenze - the fascinating heart of the Tuscany!" Villa Agape on the Pian del Gallo, overlooking the whole city of Florence, is the ideal Base Camp for our oncoming Vespa-Rounds in the region. Reaching Terrazze Michelangelo is just a few minutes to walk, as it is for Palazzo Pitti and its worldfamous Boboli Gardens. So get ready for inhealing some if the real italian lifestyle - Dolce Vita e la Bella Figura!
Let`s start into our adventure! First Riding Day brings us to lovely Greve in Chianti, then to San Gimignano - the medevial Manhattan - and back to Firenze via beautiful Country roads through the rich vineyards of the Chianti Classico Region. Greves famous son Giovanni da Verrazzano was the discoverer of the New York Harbour Bay and San Gimignano never ceases to amaze with its extraordinary signs of family power and mightiness. This day ends with a nice Dinner in one of Firenzes original Restaurants: Trattoria Omero. Buon appetito!
Some days are just riding days and we learn to know a completely different picture of the Tuscany. On our program: the Mugello Racetrack and the lonely northern Toscana. So let`s skip sightseeing, hop on the Vespas and GOOOOO!
It's Ridig Day 4. Today we will, after riding some 2600 ft passes, visit the italian City Of Gold - Arezzo. A lovely town and full of history. They have also a Medevial Horse Festival there, many scenes of oscarwinning movie La Vita e Bella where taken there and also having a nice lunch at the Piazza Grande is no bad idea.
Less miles - more taste. Today brought us via Villa Pitiana in Donini to the mighty Vallombrosa Abbey - founded round 1030 a.c. - and afterwards to Frantoio Pasquini, for learning more about the production and quality of olive oil. Giulia Pasquini also organised a very typical tuscan lunch for us in town. This is Italy pure.
Today is another special day. On the program: Siena. Be sure: Everytime you come to there, you'll discover hundreds of new things. The limiting fact is only the short time, one spends here. The Palio, the Piazza del Campo, the Palazzo Publico, the Duomo, the Pinacoteca, the Ristorante, the shops .... to leave all this behind is a real challenge.
The bad thing is, that also very good times end. But we did not want to miss to tell you all: You were great! You inhealed the italian way of life. Everyone of you is now a real Vespa-Pilota! Cogratulations! We hope, you enjoyed the week with Edelweiss and us, as much as we did. It was a pleasure for us. You came as guests - you left as friends. Thank you & hope 2seeUagain soon! Big hugs, your guides Tom "Weatherfrog" Schaub & Felix "ArchDuke Frankenstein of Fritzenheimer " Huber
