Seis amigos de Argentina se preparan para disfrutar de un recorrido especial con un alto componente de conducción en los Pirineos. La ruta nos llevará desde Castelldefels, cerca de Barcelona, en el lado occidental de los Pirineos, hasta San Sebastián/Donostia, antes de zigzaguear repetidamente de España a Francia y de regreso al punto de partida. Todos están ansiosos antes de que finalmente comience mañana. Six friends from Argentina set off to enjoy a special tour with a high proportion of driving in the Pyrenees. The route takes us from Castelldefels near Barcelona on the western side of the Pyrenees to San Sebastian/Donostia, before zigzagging back and forth between Spain and France and returning to the starting point. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the start of the tour tomorrow.
Dejamos la costa en Castelldefels hacia nuestro primer destino intermedio, el Monasterio de Montserrat. Ya tuvimos las primeras curvas hermosas bajo las ruedas. Después de una breve parada en el Parador de Cardona y un almuerzo en Berga, pasamos por los primeros puertos, que no son altos pero cuentan con innumerables curvas que se pueden manejar con fluidez. Esta noche la pasamos en el monasterio "Monastir de Avellanes" convertido en hotel. We leave the coast at Castelldefels for our first stop, the Monastir de Montserrat. We already enjoyed the first beautiful curves under our wheels. After a short stop at the Parador de Cardona and a lunch break in Berga, we cross the first passes, which are not high alpine but have countless curves that are easy to drive. We spend tonight at the Monastir de Avellanes monastery, which has been converted into a hotel.
Hoy también se espera que tengamos sol y temperaturas de hasta más de 30 grados Celsius. Hoy viajamos de Os de Balaguer a Pamplona, la capital de Navarra. Esta es mundialmente conocida por las fiestas de San Fermín, la carrera ante los toros de pelea a través de las estrechas calles de Pamplona. Una vez más, el sol nos da la bienvenida en este día de descanso, por lo que todos los participantes pueden llevar a cabo sus propios planes. Algunos van a San Sebastián a la playa, otros permanecen en la ciudad. Por la noche, las calles y callejones de Pamplona atraen. Aquí, cada uno encuentra tapas, raciones o menús abundantes. Dejamos Pamplona con un excelente tiempo para motocicletas en dirección este. Después de media hora, el tráfico disminuye y la carretera se vuelve más serpenteante. Poco a poco, las montañas también se van haciendo más altas. Después del almuerzo, nos dirigimos desde el "Valle de Roncal" por el "Col de la Pierre St. Martin" en contra de los peregrinos en el Camino de Santiago hacia Francia. Cruzamos partes del parque natural "Selva de Irati" envueltos en niebla, que le da un aspecto un poco selvático. Luego, el Col d'Aubisque sigue como el último punto culminante del día. Desde el inicio del paso hasta nuestro hotel de destino, la niebla persiste, pero justo en el momento de nuestra llegada, a 100 metros de la cima del paso, la niebla se despeja por unos minutos, suficiente para unas fotos. We leave Pamplona in perfect motorcycle weather and head east. After about half an hour, the traffic thins out and the road becomes more winding. Slowly, the mountains also become higher. After lunch, we head from the “Valle de Roncal” over the “Col de la Pierre St. Martin” towards the pilgrims on the Way of St. James to France. We cross parts of the “Selva de Irati” nature park in fog, which makes it seem a bit like a jungle. Then comes the Col d'Aubisque, the last highlight of the day. From the start of the pass to our destination hotel, there is fog, but just as we arrive 100 meters before the top of the pass, the fog clears for a few minutes, enough time to take a few photos. Then everything disappears again behind a thick white wall. Upon arrival at the hotel, everyone is raving about today's experiences.
Hoy la salida se retrasa unas media hora, ya que aún estamos esperando el paso de una tormenta. Después, viajaremos por calles mojadas a través de niebla hacia el "Col du Tourmalet", el paso más transitado del Tour de Francia. Afortunadamente, la niebla se despeja de vez en cuando para ofrecer magníficas vistas. Afterwards, we drive on wet roads through fog up to the Col du Tourmalet, the most frequently used pass in the Tour de France. Fortunately, the fog clears up occasionally to reveal magnificent views. We continue in similar weather conditions over several passes, where the weather conditions, despite the fog at higher altitudes, provide special impressions. In the afternoon, we decide to reach today's destination on dry roads through the Tunnel du Mas d'Azil.
Después del desayuno, dejamos nuestro hotel en dirección a Ax-les-Termes, luego nos deslizamos por el "Port de Pailhéres" para regresar a España a través de la meseta de Formiguéres. Aquí tomamos directamente la N-260 hacia la Collada de Toses, con incontables curvas bajo nuestras ruedas. Después, continuamos por esta increíble carretera a través de Ripoll para cruzar de nuevo a Francia por el Coll d'Ares. Ahora, una vez más, cruzamos la frontera hacia España para llegar a nuestro destino del día de hoy. After breakfast, we leave our hotel and head towards Ax-les-Termes, then wind our way over the Port de Pailhéres and back to Spain via the Formiguéres plateau. Here, we take the N-260 directly to Collada de Toses, with countless curves under our wheels. We then continue along this incredible road via Ripoll and cross back into France via Coll d'Ares. Now we cross the border back into Spain to our destination for today.
¡Vamos al último día de viaje! Hoy empezamos un poco más temprano para disfrutar del frescor de la mañana. Serpenteamos con nuestras motos por los parques naturales de los volcanes de la Garrotxa y el Montseny. Por la tarde, recorremos los últimos kilómetros por la autopista de vuelta a nuestro hotel de partida en Castelldefels. Tras la llegada y la devolución de las motos, nos espera una pequeña sorpresa. Brindaremos con bebidas frías por este fantástico viaje. Durante la cena de clausura ya se planifican los próximos viajes, sí, viajes (en plural). A finales de año se decidirá qué viaje tendrá prioridad en 2026. Ha sido un placer conocer a nuevos amigos, espero que nos volvamos a ver pronto. Buen viaje y conducid siempre con precaución. We wind our way through the Garrotxa and Montseny volcano nature parks on our motorcycles. In the afternoon, we ride the last few kilometers on the highway back to our starting hotel in Castelldefels. After arriving and returning the motorcycles, there is a little surprise. We'll toast to this awesome tour with some cold drinks. At the farewell dinner, we'll already be planning the next tours, yes tours (plural). Which tour will take priority in 2026 will become clear towards the end of the year. It was a pleasure to meet new friends, and I hope we'll see each other again soon.
