Grand Alps Tour CGA250A

In perfect motorcycle weather, we had the pleasure of welcoming our 12 guests from the United States to our hotel in Seefeld. It quickly became clear that this group of passionate riders had known each other for years and already shared many adventures on the road. Following the welcome briefing in the seminar room, it was time to hand over the keys – and soon everyone was united with their bikes, ready to hit the road. The participants were clearly satisfied, and excitement for the upcoming days on breathtaking Alpine roads was growing by the minute. We rounded off the day with a delicious dinner together. Happy and full of anticipation for the first tour day, everyone headed to their rooms to rest and recharge.
We started our first riding day by riding down from Seefeld to the "Inn" valley, where we turned west. The road lead us through a canyon next to a river and slowly we were gaining altitude. After our first sweepers and some switchbacks, we arrived at "Kühtai", where we took a break and enjoyed our first applestrudel. In hot weather we followed the road over the "Hahntennjoch" and throuch the "Lech" valley, and in the afternoon we reached the highlight of the day, the "Gacher" view point, from where we could enjoy a beautiful view over the whole valley. Just before the rain started, we reached our hotel in Pfunds, close to the Swiss boarder but still in Austria. After a walk to the town church and some drinks, we enjoyed Tagliatelle and Corcon Bleu for dinner and as everybody was very tired after this first day with so many impressions, we went to bed early. A great start day of a great tour!
The day begins by the wild Inn River, its rushing current already hinting at the adventure ahead. Soon, the road starts to climb toward the Füela Pass. At the top, we take a short break with a hot chocolate – surrounded by alpine silence and an impressive mountain backdrop. The descent takes us through the Prättigau and on toward Lake Walen, where the road winds spectacularly between cliffs and water – a true highlight for anyone who loves curves. After lunch, we ride through the Glarus region toward the Klausen Pass. The ascent is a joy to ride, with sweeping views and tight switchbacks. After a brief stop at the summit, we descend into Altdorf, where we pass the famous William Tell monument. From there, we follow the Reuss River through a narrow, scenic gorge until we reach Andermatt in the early evening. A varied day filled with nature, history, and the pure joy of the ride.
Today we rode a big loop around Andermatt in beautiful weather over four surrounding passes. We started with the old "Tremola" road in the morning, followed by the "Nufenen" pass road. After a lunch stop on "Grimselpass" we returned to Andermatt over the famous "Sustenpass" In the afternoon there was time to walk the streets of the small town and do some Souvenir shopping. Some of us even went on a small hike, before we met up again to have dinner together.
We start our day with a drive over the Susten Pass from east to west. At an altitude of over 2,200 meters, we breathe in the crisp morning air and take in the stunning alpine scenery. Once back down in the valley, we follow the shores of Lake Brienz toward Interlaken, where cozy cafés and tempting chocolate shops invite us to linger. This traditional holiday destination lies near Switzerland’s most iconic mountain trio: the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The Eiger’s north face, in particular, is legendary — and notorious — having challenged countless climbers over the years. Soon, Lake Thun comes into view, and before long we arrive in the charming little town of Thun, known for its historic wooden floodgates. After snapping plenty of photos and enjoying a delicious lunch, we head back into the countryside. We cross two smaller mountain passes before reaching Martigny, which lies within sight of the French border. With just one more pass behind and one ahead, we soon arrive at our destination: Chamonix.
Today we got up early to take the cable car up to the „Aiguille du midi“ from where we had a spectacular view on the Mont Blanc. We the. startes our ride over several Tour de France passes like the Col du Madeleine and the Col d Galibier. Just when we arrived in Briancon the rain started and we enjoyed a typical french dinner.
Just a small loop to reach the most southern point of our trip. Over the Col de Izoard with its moonlike rock formations followed by the Col de Vars and alongside the lake Ebrun, where we enjoyed the French version of a Burger.
Today our route took us from Briancon to Aosta and we crossed the border between France and Italy several times, to stay on the nice mountain roads. After a coffee stop in Susa, we continued on the Col de Mont Senis, followed by the highest paved pass road in Europe, the Col de Iseran, where Tilmann waited for us with a super nice picnic. Enjoying great food in front of the scenery of the mountains was just amazing. In the afternoon the small St. Bernhard pass road took us back into Italy, where we arrived in very hot weather.
The day starts with the majestic peaks of the Aosta Valley still towering around us – but today isn’t about altitude or conquering epic Alpine passes. Today is all about the ride. We’re heading into Italy’s stunning backcountry. At first glance, the rolling hills that border the northern edge of the Po Valley don’t look like much. It’s hard to imagine that proper roads even run through here. But once we turn onto one of those narrow, perfectly flowing lanes, a whole new world opens up – a hidden maze of asphalt made for two wheels. With tree-lined roads offering welcome shade, it’s pure joy to lean into curve after curve, letting the bike dance through the landscape. Of course, no ride through Italy would be complete without a few culinary stops: a creamy cappuccino, a slice of wood-fired pizza, or a scoop of artisanal gelato – small pleasures that make the journey even sweeter. One last highlight: a short ferry ride across the shimmering waters of Lake Maggiore. It’s the kind of moment you want to freeze in time. And as the sun sets, we cross the border once more and roll into Lugano, Switzerland – our home for the night.
This day had a lot of contrasts, we started riding along the northern side of lake Lugano to shortly after arrive at lake Como. Then the real fun started, as we took on the narrow road of Splügenpass where we encountered the tightest switchbacks on the whole trip. We just arrive in time at the restaurant on top, before the rain started. Luckily it did not last long, and we could continue our ride into Switzerland in dry weather. In the afternoon we arrived in Livigno, where the hotel pool awaited us.
Today’s route features two impressive mountain passes – one world-famous, the other a hidden gem. The Stelvio Pass is a must for any motorcyclist – at least once in a lifetime, you have to ride this legendary road. The Passo di Gavia, though less known, is just as stunning and definitely worth the ride. Before we climb into the mountains, we first pass through the Munt La Schera Tunnel, which quickly takes us into Switzerland. There, the Ofen Pass serves as a perfect warm-up for what’s to come. After a coffee break in Glurns – the smallest town in Italy – we head toward the foot of the northern ramp of the Stelvio. And if you’ve forgotten how many hairpin bends lie ahead, the sign at the first curve will remind you: 48! At the summit, we’re rewarded with breathtaking views, a crowd of fellow riders and tourists – and of course, Bruno’s famous sausages. Then it’s time to descend the southern side. After 39 more bends, we’re at the bottom – but not for long, as the climb to the next pass begins right away. The Gavia Pass is only slightly lower than the Stelvio but far less frequented – and its scenery is every bit as impressive. What follows may not be quite as dramatic, but it’s still beautiful. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Bolzano – tired but happy. Our final destination, Klobenstein, lies above the city and is reached via a wonderfully winding mountain road.
While some of us decided to use the rest day to relax and take a walk to the earth pyramids, others went on a ride over 5 beautiful Dolomite passroads. A break at lake Fedaia and we were ready to continue our ride back to Klobenstein. Some of us were even visiting the Karer lake. In the afternoon there was enough time to enjoy the SPA area of the hotel.
This route takes us straight into the heart of the Dolomites – a dream destination for anyone who lives for curves and breathtaking mountain views. We start the day easy, cruising along the scenic roads around Bolzano, surrounded by sun-drenched orchards and picturesque vineyards. But it doesn’t take long before the pace – and the landscape – changes. Towering peaks, rugged cliffs, and dramatic rock faces set the scene for a rider’s paradise, with endless curves and tight switchbacks that demand your full attention. This is where the real riding joy begins. In the afternoon, the tour hits its absolute highlight: the legendary Grossglockner High Alpine Road. We head towards Austria’s highest mountain – the mighty Grossglockner at 3,798 meters – riding one of the most spectacular alpine roads Europe has to offer. Built between 1930 and 1935 by around 3,000 workers, the road climbs up to 2,504 meters. And if you're up for it, a short detour takes you even higher – to the Edelweißspitze at 2,577 meters, the highest point accessible by motorcycle. A day packed with everything we love – epic roads, jaw-dropping scenery, and pure two-wheeled bliss.
What a ride! We started early in Kaprun, engine humming under clear blue skies with glacier views in the mirror. First stop: the mighty Krimml Waterfalls – Europe's highest. Next came the Zillertaler Höhenstraße – 2,000+ meters of pure alpine riding joy. Tight curves, sweeping views, and even a few cows on the road. Classic Tyrol. We dropped down into the valley and rolled into the medieval old town of Hall for a quick lunch surrounded by centuries of history. For the last stretch we hopped on the highway and arrived safely in Mieming where we returned the bikes. Final leg: Climbing to Seefeld, where the evening sun lit up the high plateau. An unforgettable tour: mountains, curves, and perfect moments on two wheels. All shared within a wonderful group. An unforgetable memory!
