Adventure Machu Picchu ACP2501

Hello from Arequipa, Already the first day, and we don't drive yet, is exciting. Our group will be complete. There are still 4 missing from the USA. We start the welcome briefing without the four, information is important ;-) Until dinner we are complete, due to "slight" flight delay are now also Tom, Herb, Sharon and Vernon from the USA there. Jörg, Arco, Lisi, Leo, Markus E. And Markus W. from Germany and Austria and Tyrua from Japan waited patiently. Everyone got a motorcycle and our dinner was very entertaining. So off to bed, a hat full of sleep and tomorrow on to the fight. See you tomorrow
Now we start our journey on our steel horses. First challenge - leave Arequipa in the morning rush hour. But it quickly turns out that all drivers are not frightened by this, close their eyes and go The landscape is constantly changing. Sometimes it is a monad landscape, sometimes lush green valleys. Everyone's having fun. After a long day, everyone is still allowed to drive off-road, otherwise we will not get to our hotel. Puerto Inca is a lonely but beautiful place for us. And tomorrow it goes into the air
Today we probably drive the most beautiful part of the Panameric Highway. A lot of traffic, fog and rain do not let us slow down. But we'll make a short stop at the big, really big, sand dunes. No one believes that the weather in Nasca will be so good that you can fly. But 18 km before Nasca the sky tears open, the sun laughs and bright blue sky. In the hotel it gets hectic for a while, our shuttle is there an hour earlier. We have to go now otherwise it may be that we are not allowed in the air. But also there the whole group is relaxed and moves in where they stood. Tonight we're going to the city for dinner. Tomorrow we will ride a motorcycle a little longer again. So come over again
Oh, what's the weather doing today? Fog in Nasca. But wait and see what happens to the weather within 20 minutes. We screw ourselves within 100 km to 4200 meters of altitude. And so we break through the cloud cover after a few curves. We also earned a pass with Rosa with a Coca tea. Because it helps against altitude sickness. We move all day between 4000 and 4500 m. But before we reach our hotel in Chalhuanca, we have a road closure of the nice kind. In the village we celebrate with music, dance and many cheerful people on the street. We like to wait there
We start today with a nice warmup through a dreamy valley. To then drive over two passes with 3800 meters of height. That means a lot of curves, a lot of curves. But the view of the 5,000s is magnificent. We have to move on, because the old Inca settlement Ollantaytambo is waiting for us. Where we exchange our motorcycles tomorrow for train, bus and run. Why? Come over again tomorrow
Our whole tour is a highlight - but today is the day why we are in Peru MACHU PICCHU We were allowed to sleep a little longer, because our train doesn't start until 9.15. Pack sunscreen, put on good shoes and a good mood is in your luggage anyway. The station is filling up, there probably want to go up even more. A train ride that is lust ..... In the panoramic train goes 1.5 hours through the forests. But then we are only in Aguas Calientes, from where our bus takes us over what feels like 100 serpentines to the entrance. Now begins our exploration of Machu Picchu. An OH, an Ah, a WOW is nice to hear. Alberto our restaurant guide shows us the best photo stops and tells us everything there is to know. After three hours we go back by bus and on the train we get a fashion show and folklore dance. What an eventful day.
Today we only have a short driving day. Nevertheless, the same two highlights. Happy Birthday 🎁 Lissi We wish you a wonderful day After we have left Ollantaytambo, we make a stop with a fantastic view into the Urubamba Valley. And here is also highlight number two, a ZIP line What fun they are not afraid of heights. Now quickly to Cusco because there unexpectedly a funny city festival awaits us. Everything is on their feet in their traditional robes. We dive into the hustle and bustle
What the Day was too short yesterday, it is all the longer today. Because we have to go to Puno at Lake Titicaca. Fast, long roads bring us forward. The landscape passes us by, a little time to dream. But don't forget to catch your breath, we're on the road all day between 3600 and 4300 meters above sea level. Abra La Raya was our highest point today. We also had a bit of time there to acquire local products. Our current hotel is located on Lake Titicaca.
Today our day starts spectacularly with an insane sunrise. So it quickly makes you forget how cold it actually is. But before we get on the motorcycles today, let's take a boat trip to the Floating Islands. There we are shown how they maintain them and how they live there. A great experience. Now we leave the Titicaca lake which lies at 4000 meters of altitude to go even further up. On our way to our destination today, Chivay, we pass millions of alpacas and llamas. The highest point on our journey is on ! Mirador de la Andes" at 4886 meters. Here the air is quite thin. Arriving in Chivay, we all gratefully realize that our room is heated and we have heated beds. Because it will be very cold tonight. Stay tuned because tomorrow we will have one last highlight.
Bus or motorcycle, was the question? In this group very clear answer! Motorcycle But why? Today we go to the Cola Valley, where the devent Condors live. We are curious if we get to see any. The ride through the Cola Canyon is spectacular. The Peruvians say it is the second deepest canyon in the world. And there you are, the first four Condors, as if out of nowhere they slide over our heads. What an exciting experience to see these beautiful big birds. Today they didn't fly at 7000 meters but at just under 4000 m really in front of our noses. There must have been 15 birds around us. Great. As much as we would like to stay here, we have to move on. Again over 4886 meters, but today with a fantastically clear view. We very 360 degrees all volcanoes that stand here. But unfortunately every tour is over, we get wistfully closer to the city of Arequipa, one last time to refuel. At the hotel, Eddi (our service driver) keeps our well-deserved boot beer ready. The Ferrelldinner lets us once again revel in the nine days full of highlight. I would like to thank every single participant of this tour, full of experiences and without incident. See you soon somewhere in this beautiful world, preferably with a motorcycle Your Michaela
