Tour of the Pyrenees- PYT2501

Today we had our first Restday. Almost everyone decided to join us for a nice ride with the bikes over some beautiful passes and twistiy roads!
The weather looks good in the morning, however thunderstorms are forecasted for the afternoon...let's hit the road to see Andorra firstly. Interesting, like a shopping paradise put into the steep mountains. We cross the border to France and after lunch we tackle the Tour de France pass Port de Pailheres. So beautiful up here on 2.000 m, animals around us and a super twisty single lane mountain road ahead of us...and we are lucky, the thunderstorms are just about 5 km away. A long riding day comes to an end in the medieval city of Carcassonne. What a beautiful day!
Today some of us decided to go for a shorter ride in the morning and then have some free time to explore the city in the afternoon.
Wow, what a day! On twisty 1.5 lane roads through the hills back towards the real Pyrenees...forest, farmland, some tiny villages and no traffic at all. And then the Gorge de Galamus...the "road" is practically carved into the rockface, beautiful views and huihuihui on the right side it's really going down! And on the other side of the Canyon Peter prepared our Picnic. A surprise and well done! After a longer ride through some valleys we climb the Col d'Arles with 1.500m; greatgrip and great ride! Crossing the border to Spain we stay tonite in this nice village and our nice hotel!
Unfortunately, it's that time again: our last day of this tour has begun. But magnificent roads and landscapes still await us to enjoy. In the morning, we wind our way down a small, winding road through the Mollo forests back to the plains, then we head past Girona through hilly landscapes to the sea, where a tapas bar in the harbor awaits us with lunch. After lunch, the final highlight awaits us: the coastal road with its endless curves and spectacular views of the coast and the Mediterranean.
