Y aquí estamos: el primer día de ruta. Todos llegamos al garaje a tiempo para cargar las motos y finalmente partir. Como, por desgracia, no éramos el único grupo de Edelweiss en el hotel, tardamos bastante en salir. Tras una primera aclimatación y un rodaje lento de las motos, recorrimos las llanuras bávaras hacia Wasserburg am Inn para nuestra primera parada fotográfica. Unas vistas maravillosas de la ciudad desde el Inn y luego hacia el siguiente punto de interés: el mar de Baviera, también conocido como Chiemsee. Aquí disfrutamos de un pequeño refrigerio antes de partir hacia Salzburgo, nuestro destino de hoy. Pero antes de ir al hotel, queremos hacer una breve parada en el famoso Hangar 7 (el Hangar 7 del aeropuerto de Salzburgo es una obra de arte arquitectónica única y alberga una gran colección de aviones históricos Flying Bulls). Tras una breve parada, nos dirigimos a Salzburgo, donde nos esperaba una sorpresa: un desfile de ravers justo en la puerta del hotel. Por desgracia, una vez más no tuvimos tiempo suficiente para lanzarnos al ajetreo, la cena ya nos estaba llamando... And here we are: the first day of riding. Everyone was in the garage on time to load up the bikes and finally set off. As we were unfortunately not the only Edelweiss group in the hotel, it took quite a while before we finally set off. After some initial acclimatization and slowly breaking in the bikes, we rode through the Bavarian flatlands towards Wasserburg am Inn for our first photo stop. A wonderful view over the town on the Inn and then on to the next highlight: the Bavarian Sea aka Chiemsee. Here we enjoyed a little refreshment before setting off towards Salzburg, our destination for today. But before we head to the hotel, we want to make a short pit stop at the famous Hangar 7 (Hangar 7 at Salzburg Airport is a unique architectural work of art and is home to a large collection of historic Flying Bulls aircraft). After a short stopover, we made our way to Salzburg, where a surprise in the form of a raver parade was waiting for us right outside our hotel. Unfortunately, once again there wasn't enough time to throw ourselves into the hustle and bustle, dinner was already calling....

Nos esperaba un día maravilloso, y cumplió su promesa: tras salir de Salzburgo, nos dirigimos hacia Berchtesgaden y a la hermosa carretera panorámica de Rossfeld. Pero eso fue solo el principio... Nuestro momento culminante del día estaba a punto de comenzar: la carretera alpina Grossglockner, con sus impresionantes curvas y magníficas vistas. Tras comer en el pico Edelweiss, nos dirigimos a Franz Josef Höhe para ver el glaciar y el propio Grossglockner. Las temperaturas allí arriba eran muy agradables, pero teníamos que regresar al valle para llegar a nuestro destino de hoy en el lago Wörthersee: Velden... y allí, todos esperaban con ansias un refrigerio antes de terminar el día con una buena cena y un paseo. A wonderful day awaited us – and it delivered on its promise: After leaving Salzburg, we headed toward Berchtesgaden and onto the beautiful Rossfeld Panorama Road. But that was just the beginning... Our highlight of the day was about to be tackled: the Grossglockner High Alpine Road with its stunning curves and magnificent views. After a lunch break at the Edelweiss Peak, we drove to the Franz Josef Höhe to see the glacier and the Grossglockner itself. The temperatures up there were very pleasant, but we had to return to the valley to reach our destination for today on Lake Wörthersee: Velden... and there, everyone was looking forward to some refreshments before rounding off the day with a good dinner and a stroll.

Hoy recorreremos tres países. El inicio de la mañana en Austria, en el lago Wörthersee, comienza con una temperatura sofocante de 25 grados y solo son las 8:30 de la mañana. Pero cualquier cosa es mejor que la lluvia :-). Así que nos lanzamos a conquistar el primer puerto del día: el puerto de Loibl, que también es la frontera entre Austria y Eslovenia. Por desgracia, teníamos muchas autocaravanas y coches lentos delante, lo que hizo la conducción un poco menos agradable. Al llegar a Eslovenia, giramos rápidamente y condujimos por carreteras secundarias y curvas cerradas a la sombra de los bosques hacia la romántica ciudad de Bled. Allí hicimos nuestra parada obligatoria para tomar un café junto al lago. Disfrutamos de las vistas del lago y del castillo. Después, cruzamos el puerto de Vrsic hacia Italia. Muchas de las curvas cerradas aún tienen piedras de cable, pero por suerte está seco y nos divertimos mucho en el ascenso al puerto. Al llegar a la cima, se nota enseguida que estamos en temporada alta. Apenas hay sitio para aparcar las bicis, así que decidimos bajar al valle a comer. Las temperaturas ya superan con creces los 30 grados, así que solo nos queda una cosa por hacer después de comer: ir directamente al hotel y a la piscina. Nos lo merecíamos hoy. Today we will be on the road in three countries. The start in the morning in Austria at Lake Wörthersee begins at a sweaty 25 degrees and it's only 8:30 in the morning. But anything is better than rain :-). So we set off to conquer the first pass of the day. The Loibl Pass, which is also the border between Austria and Slovenia. Unfortunately, we had a lot of motorhomes and slow cars in front of us, which made driving a little less enjoyable. Once we arrived in Slovenia, we quickly turned off and drove along small roads and through tight bends in the shade of the forests towards the romantic town of Bled. There we had our obligatory coffee stop right by the lake. We enjoy the view over the lake and up to the castle. Then we head over the Vrsic Pass towards Italy. Many of the hairpin bends are still with cable stones, but luckily it's dry and we have a lot of fun on the ascent to the pass. Once we reach the top, you can see straight away that we are in the peak season. There is hardly any free space to park the bikes, so we decide to head back down to the valley for lunch. The temperatures have now reached well over 30 degrees and so there is only one thing left to do after our lunch stop and that is to head straight to the hotel and the pool. We deserved it today.

Con temperaturas agradables, emprendimos nuestro recorrido por varios puertos de montaña de las Dolomitas. Vía Paso di Osvaldo, donde comenzaba la "caza de curvas", nos dirigimos a Paso Duran para almorzar en un entorno idílico. El calor reprimido del verano se liberó en una refrescante tormenta justo cuando estábamos a punto de afrontar el Passo Rolle. Pero... también hay que tener suerte: disfrutamos de nuestro momento culminante del día, el Passo Manghen, de nuevo en seco. ¡Las nubes oscuras que nos rodeaban nos salvaron! El viaje a nuestro hotel en Levico Terme fue entretenido, y todos terminaron el día con una gran sonrisa. ¡Así debe ser! In pleasant temperatures, we set off on our tour over several Dolomite passes. Via Paso di Osvaldo, where the "hunt for curves" began, we drove to Paso Duran for lunch in idyllic surroundings. The pent-up summer heat released itself in a refreshing thunderstorm – just as we were about to tackle Passo Rolle. But...you also have to be lucky: We enjoyed our highlight of the day, >Passo Manghen<, in dry conditions again. The dark clouds around us spared us! The journey to our hotel in Levico Terme was entertaining, and everyone had a big grin on their face at the end of the day – that's how it should be!!!

Tras amainar la lluvia de ayer, nos despertamos de nuevo con un cielo azul brillante. Las mejores condiciones para una excursión fuera de las rutas turísticas habituales. Primero teníamos que salir de Levico y adentrarnos en las montañas. Tomamos la famosa Kaiserjägerstrasse, también conocida como "Strada del Menador", justo después de Levico Terme. Con 10 km, no es la más larga, pero sí una de las mejores carreteras de la zona. Desde allí, hicimos un pequeño desvío hacia Forte Belvedere Gschwend y echamos un vistazo a las fortificaciones de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Sí, y luego nos pusimos manos a la obra con los puntos destacados del día: Passo del Sommo, Passo della Borcola, Passo Xomo Plan delle Fagazze, por nombrar solo los puntos más altos. Una curva tras otra en carreteras de montaña solitarias, ¿qué más se puede pedir? La mayoría de las carreteras mencionadas están prohibidas para autobuses y vehículos grandes porque siempre hay pequeños túneles y carreteras expuestas. Justo como nos gusta. Entre medias, siempre había vistas impresionantes del Trentino y las montañas circundantes. Poco antes de Rovereto, tuvimos que desviarnos un poco porque una carretera estaba cortada. Para nuestra sorpresa, el desvío nos llevó primero a un taller mecánico :-). Sin embargo, poco después encontramos el camino correcto y, tras unos kilómetros, volvimos a nuestra ruta original. La pausa para comer de hoy, por supuesto, culminó con un helado exquisito (¡vamos, estamos en Italia!) y justo después partimos hacia el último punto culminante del día: la travesía en ferry por el lago de Garda. Pero casi se me olvida mencionar lo más importante: tras llegar al hotel, nuestro guía turístico nos esperaba con una cerveza artesanal. Gracias, MArc, ¡la mejor idea del día! :-) After yesterday's rain had cleared, we woke up to bright blue skies again today. The best conditions for a tour off the beaten tourist tracks. First we had to get out of Levico and into the mountains. We took the famous Kaiserjägerstrasse aka “Strada del Menador” just after Levico Terme. At 10 km, it's certainly not the longest, but it is one of the finest roads in this area. From there, we made a short detour to Forte Belvedere Gschwend and took a look at the fortifications from the First World War. Yes, and then we really got going with today's highlights: Passo del Sommo, Passo della Borcola, Passo Xomo Plan delle Fagazze, to name just the highest points. One bend after another on lonely mountain roads, what more could you want? Most of the before mentioned roads are forbidden for buses and large vehicles because there are always small tunnels and exposed roads to drive through. Just the way we like it. In between, there were always breathtaking views of Trentino and the surrounding mountains. Shortly before Rovereto, we had to take a small detour because a road was closed. To our amusement, the detour first led to a garage :-). However, shortly afterwards we found the right way and after a few kilometers we were back on our original route. The lunch break today was of course rounded off with finest gelato (I mean we are in Italy… ) and right after we set off for the last highlight of the day, the ferry crossing over Lake Garda. But the most important I almost forgot to mention: After the arrival at the hotel our Tour Guide was waiting for us with a boot beer. Thank you MArc - best idea of the day :-)

Tras recorrer un poco más la orilla izquierda del lago de Garda, pronto giramos al oeste para afrontar la primera de las muchas curvas del día. Serpenteamos a través del hermoso Valvestino hasta nuestra primera parada, el lago Idro. ¡No fue la última parada con vistas maravillosas hoy! Condujimos hacia el norte por el desfiladero de Sarche y paramos a comer en la orilla sur del lago Molveno. Luego continuamos (con muchas curvas, por supuesto) subiendo el paso de Mendola hasta Penegal. Aquí disfrutamos de un refresco y, por supuesto, de las vistas del valle del Adigio y de Bolzano, nuestro destino de hoy. Llegamos tras más curvas magníficas al descender del paso. Hoy fue un día de curvas y miradores, ¡pero qué día no lo ha sido! After riding a bit further along the left shore of Lake Garda, we soon turned west to tackle the first of the day's many curves. We wound our way through beautiful Valvestino to our first stop at Lake Idro. Not the last stop with wonderful views today! We rode north through the Sarche Gorge and stopped for lunch on the southern shore of Lake Molveno. We then continued (with plenty of twists and turns, of course) up the Mendola Pass and on to Penegal. Here we enjoyed a refreshing drink—and, of course, the view down into the Adige Valley and onto Bolzano—our destination for today. We reached it after more magnificent curves on the descent from the pass. Today was truly a day of curves and viewpoints—but what day hasn't been?!

Hoy fue el último gran escenario, desde Bolzano hasta Seefeld en Tirol. Una vez más pasa y se dobla para disfrutar. Después de un poco de tráfico de la ciudad en Bolzano, nos dirigimos directamente a las montañas y pudimos echar un vistazo a la ciudad desde lo alto. Hoy nos lo tomamos con calma a lo largo de los exuberantes prados alpinos, ya que había "solo" 190 km en el programa. Nuestro próximo destino fue el Timmelsjoch. A partir del valle de Passeier, hicimos nuestro camino por el alto camino alpino. Parecía que había 1000 motocicletas con el mismo destino. Aquí se requirió la máxima concentración, porque desafortunadamente siempre hay quienes confunden todo con una pista de carreras. Después de algunos retrasos, nuestro grupo llegó a la cima sano y salvo. Aquí tuvimos una pausa para el almuerzo seguida de una visita al Museo de la Motocicleta. Ojos brillantes por todas partes. Las exhibiciones aquí son realmente magníficas. El corazón de cada motociclista late más rápido. Luego, fue un paseo relajado por el Ötztal y luego por la posada hasta Seefeld. Today was the last big stage - from Bolzano to Seefeld in Tyrol. Once more passes and bends to enjoy. After a bit of city traffic in Bolzano, we headed straight up into the mountains and were able to take a look at the city from high above. Today we took it easy along lush alpine meadows, as there were “only” 190 km on the program. Our next destination was the Timmelsjoch. Starting from the Passeier Valley, we made our way up the high Alpine road. It felt like there were 1000 motorcycles with the same destination. Maximum concentration was required here, because unfortunately there are always those who confuse the whole thing with a race track. After a few delays, our group arrived at the top safe and sound. Here we had a lunch break followed by a visit to the motorcycle museum. Bright eyes everywhere. The exhibits here are truly magnificent. Every biker's heart beats faster. Afterwards, it was a relaxed ride through the Ötztal and then along the Inn to Seefeld.

Después de que tuvimos nuestro último día de conducción ayer y se entregaron las motocicletas, todo estaba dedicado a los días de BMW hoy. Descansado y después de un detallado desayuno tomamos el tren de Seefeld (Austria) a Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Alemania). Había muchos expositores en un área grande, sobre todo, por supuesto, BMW, pero también Edelweiss y, por ejemplo, Held y Touratech. ...si tenías suerte, también podrías conocer a Charley Boormann. Además, hubo algunos espectáculos de acrobacias y también se cuidó el bienestar físico. Por la noche fuimos a la gran carpa, donde Edelweiss había reservado un gran salón VIP y todos nuestros grupos con un total de más de 160 personas) pudieron encontrar espacio. Todos disfrutaron de esta gran velada con suficiente comida y bebida... y el baile también fue extenso. Después de un día lleno de acontecimientos, todos regresaron a su alojamiento con autobuses y lanzaderas Edelweiss organizados por Edelweiss. Que dia After our last day of riding yesterday and returning the motorcycles, today was all about BMW Days. Well rested and after a hearty breakfast, we took the train from Seefeld (Austria) to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany). There were many exhibitors in a large area – first and foremost BMW, of course, but also Edelweiss and Held and Touratech, for example. ...if you were lucky, you could also meet Charley Boorman. There were also a few stunt shows and refreshments were provided. In the evening, we went to the large marquee tent, where Edelweiss had reserved a large VIP lounge and all of our groups (over 160 people in total) found space. Everyone enjoyed this fantastic evening with plenty of food and drink...and there was plenty of dancing too. After an eventful day, everyone was taken back to their accommodations in buses and shuttles organized by Edelweiss. What a day.

Desgraciadamente, hoy era el último día de nuestro viaje juntos. Tras visitar ayer los BMW Motorrad Days en Garmisch, hoy hemos cogido un gran autocar (sin motos) hasta Múnich para hacer nuestra última parada del viaje. Rápidamente depositamos las maletas en el hotel y nos dispusimos a descubrir la ciudad. Pasamos por el Stachus hasta la Frauenkirche y, por supuesto, visitamos un pub tradicional muniqués a la hora de comer. Después, continuamos hasta llegar a la Marienplatz al final del breve recorrido. A partir de aquí, cada uno pudo pasar un poco más de tiempo a solas antes de que tuviera lugar el último punto del programa, la cena de despedida. Aquí repasamos una vez más el recorrido y todas las aventuras vividas. Muchas gracias a todos por este maravilloso viaje en moto y por la velada que pasamos juntos. Ha sido estupendo recorrer juntos las carreteras, recoger nuevas impresiones y compartir nuestras experiencias. After visiting the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch yesterday, we took a large coach (without motorcycles) to Munich today for our last stop on our trip. We quickly deposited our suitcases at the hotel and then set off on a discovery tour of the city. Past the Stachus to the Frauenkirche and, of course, a visit to a traditional Munich pub at lunchtime. Afterwards, we continued on until we arrived at Marienplatz at the end of the short tour. From here, everyone was able to spend a little more time on their own before the last item on the program, the farewell dinner, took place. Here we reviewed the tour and all the adventures once again. Many thanks to everyone for this wonderful motorcycle tour and the evening together. It was great to explore the roads together, gather new impressions and share our experiences. We were especially pleased to welcome guests from Argentina - your love of adventure and interest made the tour very special.
