High Alpine Tour 2503

Welcome to our Blog of the High Alpine Tour. We start with our welcome briefing and inform our guests what to expect in the next days. The motorcycles will be handed over in the evening and the next day we will set off from Erding to Lienz.
On our first day we ride through beautiful Bavaria and reach our first Photoshop, the Brucktor in Wasserburg. We continue to Lake Chiemsee, where we make our first coffee stop and shortly afterwards we cross the border into Austria. A "small" lunch awaits us before we reach the highlight of the day: the Grossglockner Road with the Edelweissspitze. Here is the opportunity for everyone to ride up the Edelweissspitze at their own pace. We enjoy the ride through the breathtaking nature and take beautiful photos from the observation tower. It is only a few kilometers to Lienz and after the descent from the Edelweissspitze we arrived at the hotel very quickly. A great day of riding is behind us. After a delicious dinner, we look forward to the next day.
The perfect day starts with a delicious breakfast. And that's exactly what we do on the terrace of our hotel. Today we're driving from Lienz to Bolzano, heading to South Tyrol in Italy. The highlight of the day is the Dolomites with the Three Peaks, a simply stunning landscape with roads that will delight any motorcyclist. We first ride over the Passo Tre Croci to Cortina d'Ampezzo, then continue over further passes and through the Val Gardena. After 211 km/131 mi, we finally reach Bolzano and check into our hotel in the city center. We end the day with a glass of wine and good Italian food.
On our rest day, we took a short tour around Bolzano. We started with the Passo della Mendola, which the guests were free to ride. It was a lot of fun ☺️. This was followed by the Penegal, which probably few people know about. Then we went through the Vinschgau Valley to Katzenzungen Castle. Finally, we had a very good lunch at a Vinschgau Gasthaus.
This will be our day... The highlight of our tour, the Stelvio, will be conquered today. We set off from Bolzano with great anticipation and first drive through the Vinschgau region, past countless fruit trees. After the first coffee stop, the moment has come. We head for the Stelvio, the highest Alpine pass in Italy at 2,758 meters/9,048 ft. After 48 spectacular bends, the moment has come. We got it and our reward is a magnificent view and a delicious sausage from Bruno. Our descent is no less exciting. First to Bormio and then over the Passo di Gavia, on to the Passo dell'Aprica and over the Bernina Pass to our hotel in Pontresina. After 300 kilometers, we have reached our destination - it was a long day - but it was worth it. With so many impressions and experiences, we went to dinner satisfied and happy that everything went well. And big compliment from the tour guide—you all did an exceptionally good job. Outstanding, thank you for that.
In the morning, we enjoy the Swiss mountain landscape over the Albula Pass before entering the Principality of Liechtenstein. In its capital, Vaduz, we can stop for a photo of the prince's castle. Shortly before the border with Liechtenstein, we had another surprise: the picnic. Apparently, all the guests loved it ☺️. We then cross the border and enter Austria, where we continue over the Furka Pass to Schoppernau, and soon reach our hotel in Warth.
Today is our last day of riding, and it's off we go. We leave our wonderful hotel in Warth and first ride 50 kilometers through the Lech Valley before turning towards Neuschwanstein Castle. A quick photo stop at Disney Castle, a coffee break, and then we continue along Lake Plansee until we finally reach Linderhof Castle, the only completed castle of King Ludwig II, the fairytale king. We enjoy a walk in the castle gardens and marvel at the castle's impressive architecture. Before we return to Erding, we visit the impressive Benedictine Ettal Abbey, founded in 1330. It's a beautiful sight. The last few kilometers we cycle through small towns and along fields until we finally arrive back in Erding. We had a really great time and arrived as a team and group. Gerhard and Heiko would like to thank us so much for letting us experience everything together. Have a safe journey home and hopefully see you soon on the bike.
Some guests are staying in Europe for a few more days, others are flying back home today. But for everyone, it was one thing: a fantastic experience! They came as guests and are leaving (almost) as friends. Goodbye and have safe journeys home ☺️
