Early in the morning, we set off from Erding, full of anticipation for a little discovery tour through southern Germany. Soon, the road led us through the Holledau, where endless hop fields stretched out to the left and right – a lush green ribbon guiding us toward Wolnzach. There, we took our first break and enjoyed a good cup of coffee amidst the hop-growing region. Refreshed, we continued into the romantic Altmühl Valley. The winding roads, framed by cliffs and river meadows, offered pure riding pleasure. In Eichstätt, we found a sunny terrace with a view over the valley – the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch. After our rest, the route took us via Treuchtlingen to the medieval old town of Dinkelsbühl. With its timber-framed houses and towers, it felt like stepping into a picture book. We wandered through the charming streets for a while before moving on. The final stretch brought us to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a true highlight of any Franconian tour. After a delicious dinner, we joined the famous Night Watchman’s Tour. Guided by lantern light and tales from centuries past, we were immersed in the medieval atmosphere of the town – a worthy conclusion to an eventful journey.
Early in the morning, we began today’s stage in the medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The narrow alleys, cobblestones, and half-timbered houses gave us a charming farewell before we fired up the engines and set off on our journey. Our first stop took us to Langenburg Castle, perched high above the Jagst Valley. We paused there for some photos – the magnificent castle with the picturesque landscape in the background provided the perfect setting for a few lasting memories. We then rode into the Jagst Valley, a beautiful route with gentle curves, green forests, and sweeping views. The road led us straight to Schöntal Monastery, an impressive complex nestled in nature. Over a delicious coffee, we soaked up the peaceful atmosphere and wandered through the historic grounds, steeped in calm and history. For lunch, a special surprise awaited us: an exquisite picnic. Surrounded by meadows and under the open sky, we enjoyed fine treats while taking in the scenery and the moment. It was one of those times when the world seems to stand still. Refreshed, we continued our ride and headed to Hornberg Castle. On the castle terrace, we treated ourselves to a cold drink and gazed out over the Neckar Valley. The view was simply breathtaking – a perfect spot to pause and reflect on the day. The final highlight was the ride up to our hotel on the Königsstuhl. The winding road to the top was another delight for us motorcyclists. Once we arrived, we looked forward to a relaxed evening and ended this eventful day in good company.
In the morning, we set off from Heidelberg, taking one last look at the castle and the picturesque old town before firing up the engines. Heading south, we left Karlsruhe to our side and made our way into the Black Forest – a true paradise for motorcyclists. Our first break was in the spa town of Bad Herrenalb. There we not only enjoyed a well-deserved coffee but also discovered something special: a mysterious floating tree that gave the place an almost magical atmosphere. From there, we followed narrow, beautifully winding roads through forests and hills until we reached the Mummelsee. This legendary mountain lake invited us to take a short rest while soaking in its mystical charm. For lunch, we stopped at the Renchtal Hut, where we were treated to traditional local cuisine. The view across the Black Forest from up there was simply breathtaking – a perfect spot to relax and recharge. Re-energized, we continued our journey deeper into the mythical Black Forest, where the mysterious aura made every curve and stretch of road an experience in itself. Eventually, we crossed the Rhine and entered France. Our destination: the charming town of Ribeauvillé, with its half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, and unmistakable French flair – the perfect ending to a long yet unforgettable day.
The weather report for today wasn't that good and so we decided to take it easy today. Relaxing in the hotel, taking a stroll through the lovely old town, do some shopping, visiting the castle close by and a guided tour in a winery including some tasting were on today's agenda. We all had an enjoyable day and used it to get rid of the tiredness, so that we can be focused on riding again on the next day. We finished the day in a nice restaurant where they served really tasty Tarte Flambée.
1 Day - 3 countries. We started refreshed early in the morning in France and headed to the German border. But before we got there, we stopped at the famous Maginot line, the former french defense line against the Germans. There we could see an exhibition of all kinds of military vehicles, which were used back in those days. Afterwards we went over the Rhine river, which marks the border to Germany. We found our way through the mist and neezle rain and ended up at a hidden gem in the black forest. We had lunch at the Hexenlochmühle, where they served us as well the tasty black forest cherry cake. That was tasty! After riding a bit longer around Germany we finally made it to Switzerland. We headed to the Rainfall, an impressive waterfall and even got lucky with the weather there. A great day and it even got better for Cynthia, because she finally got her luggage from the airport, that's something to celebrate!
Today we're off to Warth, Austria. It's going to be a really rainy day, with cold temperatures down to 4 degrees Celsius, thick fog, and wet roads. The day was truly a challenge for all of us...and we handled it brilliantly. Congratulations! Along the way, we took a cable car ride up Säntis. We were lucky; the clouds were lower, and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. A coffee stop and a vintage car—what could be better? Finally, arriving at the hotel, everyone was happy, and we're sure we'll be talking about this day for a long time to come.
Our final day of riding takes us from Warth back to Erding. We initially travel through the beautiful Lech Valley. After a brief stop at Neuschwanstein Castle - the Disney Castle, the route continues along Lake Plansee and finally to Linderhof Palace. We stroll around a bit and marvel at the beautiful park and the palace. Ettal Abbey is the last sight of our tour. Marco has prepared a small snack before we head back to Erding. A delicious meal to finish and one last dance. We all arrived back in Erding happy, safe, and satisfied. The next day is departure day, and we wish everyone a safe journey home. Thank you for the great day and your company. See you next time.
