This morning, we drove through the beautiful Leutasch Valley into Germany. Our first stop was at Lake Walchen, where we enjoyed our first coffee of the day with a stunning view. In Ettal, we visited the Benedictine Abbey and its impressive basilica. The large ceiling fresco from the 18th century really caught our attention. Next, we headed to Linderhof Palace. We took a walk through the beautiful gardens and admired the artworks and fountains created under King Ludwig II. Back in Austria, we had lunch at a traditional restaurant in Reutte, traditional dish called Tiroler Gröstl. In the sunny afternoon we drove over the Hahntennjoch mountain pass (1,894 m) back to our hotel, the views along the way were absolutely breathtaking. Tonight, we’re looking forward to a delicious Italian-style dinner, a perfect way to end this eventful day!
Our tour started in the Ötztal Valley and led us straight to the impressive Stuibenfall, the highest waterfall in Tyrol. From there, we continued through Sölden and up to the Timmelsjoch, where we made a special stop: the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum. A true highlight for any motorcycle enthusiast! Seeing so many unique bikes from different eras all in one place was a real treat. Even though the weather was foggy and cold, nothing could spoil the ride over the famous Timmelsjoch at more than 2,500 meters. The views and the road itself were absolutely stunning. Around midday, we stopped for lunch in St. Leonhard in the Passeier Valley before heading back to Austria via the winding Jaufen Pass (2,094 m). One last Italian cappuccino in Sterzing, then we rode along small, scenic roads around Innsbruck and finally returned to the hotel. A day full of curves, views, and dolce vita.
Our tour began early in the morning, taking us through the idyllic Isar Valley, past green pine forests, with stunning views and the turquoise waters of the Isar River. A real highlight was the impressive Sylvenstein Lake, the perfect spot for a short break and a few photos. After crossing back into Austria, we enjoyed a coffee at Lake Achensee, enjoying the clear water and the surrounding mountains. We continued through the Inn Valley and then up into the Ziller Valley, climbing to over 2,000 meters! The winding roads led us through the clouds, past well-known ski resorts. Riding up there on a motorcycle was truly something special. Back down in the valley, we stopped for lunch at a traditional restaurant with local cuisine, just what we needed after a long stretch on the road. Afterwards, we took the highway to our hotel and ended the day in a relaxed atmosphere. Tomorrow, a real highlight awaits us: the legendary Stelvio Pass. We’re already super excited!
Today’s Destination: The Queen of All Mountain Passes We set off early in the morning, our goal was the legendary Stelvio Pass, often called the Queen of all motorcycle passes. We made quick progress on the motorway, heading toward the Reschen Pass. Our first stop: the idyllic Reschensee (Lake Resia). With a short photo stop and a coffee right by the lake, we enjoyed the view of the famous sunken church tower, rising mysteriously from the water. From there, we continued over the Reschen Pass and up the northern side of the Stelvio. The weather couldn’t have been better: clear skies, bright sun, and perfect conditions for tackling the legendary 48 hairpin bends up to the summit. At the top, 2,757 meters above sea level, Bruno was already waiting for us with a freshly made sandwich. The view up here is simply breathtaking; snow-covered peaks, rugged cliffs, and that incredible road winding like a ribbon through the mountains. After a well-deserved break, we continued on over the Umbrail Pass and the Ofen Pass. Our route took us through the Swiss National Park and the Val Müstair; wild, untouched nature, the kind you rarely get to see. Following a coffee break with a delicious slice of Engadine nut tart, we returned to the beautiful Inn Valley, where the river still winds its way gently through the meadows like a small mountain stream. Back at the hotel, we ended the day in the best possible way: a glass of red wine in the garage with fellow riders, followed by a well-earned dinner in the cozy wine tavern. What a perfect day.
On the last day of our trip, we were lucky with the weather once again. The riding stage was short, but there was plenty of sightseeing planned in Innsbruck. In the morning, we took a walk through the old town. We visited the Golden Roof and the City Tower, and took a souvenir photo on the Inn Bridge, the one that gave the city its name. Everyone was impressed by the beautiful St. James Cathedral. From Hungerburg, we took the cable car up to the Seegrube. There, we enjoyed a delicious lunch with a great view over Innsbruck. In the afternoon, we made a short detour to Kühtai, a ski resort located over 2,000 meters above sea level. The road up there was another highlight for the riders. Afterwards, we returned to the headquarters, where we had to say goodbye to the bikes. In the evening, it’s time to say farewell and see you hopefully soon. A great tour came to an end, with fantastic roads, perfect weather, and most of all, wonderful people.
