From Argentina to the Best of the Alps! SPTCN26031

Welcome to Bavaria! Our group gathered in the charming town of Erding, located just outside Munich and known for its Bavarian atmosphere, beautiful old town, and warm hospitality. This day was dedicated to getting acquainted, settling in, and preparing for the adventure ahead. During the welcome briefing, we introduced the tour, discussed safety guidelines, and shared a few details about the incredible roads and destinations that await us over the coming days... not everything, of course, since there will also be some surprises! But the most awaited moment was, of course, the motorcycle handover! Tomorrow, the real adventure begins. We can't wait to hit the road! Stay tuned for Day 2! ---------- ¡Bienvenidos a Baviera! Nuestro grupo se reunió en la encantadora ciudad de Erding, a las afueras de Múnich, conocida por su ambiente bávaro, su precioso casco antiguo y su cálida hospitalidad. Este día lo dedicamos a conocernos, instalarnos y prepararnos para la aventura que nos espera. Durante la charla de bienvenida, presentamos el recorrido, hablamos sobre las normas de seguridad y compartimos algunos detalles sobre las increíbles carreteras y destinos que nos aguardan en los próximos días… ¡aunque no todo, claro, ya que también habrá algunas sorpresas! Pero el momento más esperado fue, sin duda, ¡la entrega de las motos! Mañana comienza la verdadera aventura. ¡Tenemos muchas ganas de salir a la carretera! ¡No se pierdan el Día 2!

We left Erding on a wonderful sunny morning and started riding through the beautiful Bavarian countryside, which is incredibly green at this time of year! We enjoyed rolling hills and beautiful sweepers until we reached Wasserburg, a town with a historic center almost completely surrounded by the River Inn. A photo stop there was mandatory! Soon after, we reached Chiemsee—often called the "Bavarian Sea"—where we stopped for a coffee break and a stroll along the lakeshore in Prien. After riding along the edge of this stunning lake, the Alps began looming closer and closer. We hit the famous Deutsche Alpenstraße (German Alpine Road) to reach Reit im Winkl, right on the Austrian border, where we stopped for a delicious lunch. We had to take a little detour afterward because a road was closed for maintenance, adding a few extra kilometers to today's route. But nobody minded, especially since we still managed to ride the spectacular Roßfeld Panoramastrasse! From its sweeping high-altitude twists, we caught a great view of Hitler’s infamous Eagle’s Nest in the distance before finally descending into our destination: Salzburg! ---------- Salimos de Erding en una maravillosa mañana soleada y comenzamos a recorrer la hermosa campiña bávara, ¡que está increíblemente verde en esta época del año! Disfrutamos de colinas onduladas y hermosas curvas hasta llegar a Wasserburg, un pueblo con un centro histórico casi completamente rodeado por el río Inn. ¡Una parada para fotos era obligatoria! Poco después, llegamos a Chiemsee, a menudo llamado el "Mar Bávaro", donde paramos para tomar un café y dar un paseo por la orilla del lago en Prien. Tras recorrer la orilla de este impresionante lago, los Alpes comenzaron a aparecer cada vez más cerca. Tomamos la famosa Deutsche Alpenstraße (Carretera Alpina Alemana) para llegar a Reit im Winkl, justo en la frontera con Austria, donde paramos para un delicioso almuerzo. Tuvimos que desviarnos un poco después porque una carretera estaba cerrada por mantenimiento, lo que añadió algunos kilómetros a la ruta de hoy. Pero a nadie le importó, ¡sobre todo porque aún pudimos recorrer la espectacular Roßfeld Panoramastrasse! Desde sus sinuosas curvas a gran altitud, pudimos contemplar a lo lejos una magnífica vista del tristemente célebre Nido del Águila de Hitler antes de descender finalmente a nuestro destino: ¡Salzburgo!

Today, we headed south and rode straight into the "real" mountains. The undisputed highlight of the day lay just ahead: the most spectacular alpine road in Austria, the legendary Großglockner High Alpine Road! After an unforgettable day of sweeping turns, high-altitude crisp air, and dramatic vistas, we cruised down into the charming valley of Lienz just before the rain set in. This gave us the perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy the hotel, and unwind in its beautiful wellness area. Now we are keeping our fingers crossed for tomorrow, since the weather forecast does not seem very good! ---------- Hoy nos dirigimos al sur y nos adentramos directamente en las montañas de verdad. El punto culminante del día nos esperaba: ¡la carretera alpina más espectacular de Austria, la legendaria Carretera Alpina de Großglockner! Tras un día inolvidable de curvas vertiginosas, aire puro de alta montaña y vistas impresionantes, descendimos al encantador valle de Lienz justo antes de que empezara a llover. Esto nos brindó la oportunidad perfecta para relajarnos, disfrutar del hotel y descansar en su preciosa zona de bienestar. Ahora cruzamos los dedos para que el tiempo mejore mañana, ¡ya que la previsión meteorológica no pinta muy bien!

Sometimes the weather forecasts are not accurate, but this time, unfortunately for us, they were spot on! We left Lienz under dark skies and steady rain, heading toward Italy to enter the beautiful South Tyrol (Alto Adige) region. Our main goal was to see the majestic Dolomites. Even though these iconic peaks were a bit shy today—hiding behind a thick blanket of clouds and only rarely showing themselves—we still managed to cross the Giau, Falzarego, and Gardena passes, which are widely considered among the most beautiful and famous mountain passes in the world! The riding was absolutely spectacular despite the wet roads. We've now arrived at our hotel in Klobenstein, and since tomorrow is a rest day, we’ll have another perfect opportunity to chase the Dolomites and hopefully see them in all their glory! ---------- A veces, los pronósticos meteorológicos no son precisos, pero esta vez, para nuestra desgracia, ¡acertaron de lleno! Salimos de Lienz bajo un cielo oscuro y una lluvia constante, rumbo a Italia para adentrarnos en la hermosa región del Tirol del Sur (Alto Adige). Nuestro principal objetivo era contemplar los majestuosos Dolomitas. Aunque estos icónicos picos se mostraron algo esquivos hoy —escondidos tras un denso manto de nubes y apenas visibles—, logramos cruzar los pasos de Giau, Falzarego y Gardena, considerados entre los más bellos y famosos del mundo. El recorrido fue absolutamente espectacular a pesar de la carretera mojada. Ya hemos llegado a nuestro hotel en Klobenstein, y como mañana es día de descanso, tendremos otra oportunidad perfecta para explorar los Dolomitas y, con suerte, contemplarlos en todo su esplendor.

After the rain and fog of yesterday, today we were compensated with interest! The weather was magnificent, so we headed back into the mountains to see what had been hidden from us. We first conquered the winding roads up to the Gardena Pass, enjoying the sweeping alpine vistas under clear skies, and then continued onward to the historic Pordoi Pass where we stopped for a well-deserved lunch. Back on our bikes for the return leg, we had plenty of time to stop at Carezza Lake to admire its legendary shimmering colors reflecting the surrounding forest and rock faces. We made it back to the hotel with a little time to relax, but the day wasn't over yet. We decided to head down into Bolzano for dinner, turning the commute into another wonderful experience by taking the historic Renon narrow-gauge railway followed by the cable car. A scenic stroll through the city's beautiful historic center, a delicious pizza, and we finally made it back to our hotel on the plateau around midnight. What an amazing day to remember! ---------- Tras la lluvia y la niebla de ayer, ¡hoy nos vimos recompensados ​​con creces! El tiempo era magnífico, así que volvimos a las montañas para descubrir lo que se nos había escapado. Primero conquistamos las sinuosas carreteras hasta el paso de Gardena, disfrutando de las impresionantes vistas alpinas bajo un cielo despejado, y luego continuamos hasta el histórico paso de Pordoi, donde paramos para un merecido almuerzo. De vuelta en moto para el regreso, tuvimos tiempo de sobra para detenernos en el lago Carezza y admirar sus legendarios colores brillantes que reflejaban el bosque y las paredes rocosas circundantes. Llegamos al hotel con un poco de tiempo para relajarnos, pero el día aún no había terminado. Decidimos bajar a Bolzano para cenar, convirtiendo el trayecto en otra experiencia maravillosa al tomar el histórico ferrocarril de vía estrecha de Renon, seguido del teleférico. Un paseo panorámico por el hermoso centro histórico de la ciudad, una deliciosa pizza, y finalmente llegamos a nuestro hotel en la meseta alrededor de la medianoche. ¡Qué día tan increíble para recordar!

Today we had a couple of highlights on our list. We left our beautiful hotel in Collalbo and headed towards the 'Passo della Mendola. We went straight to the mount Penegal and enjoyed the fantastic view from the top. We then carried on to pass Cles until we reached the Passo del Tonale where we had a typical italian lunch. After leaving Passo del Tonale we were all exited about the upcoming highlight of the day: Passo di Gavia. Spectacular!!!! Reaching our final destination, Livigno passing by Bormio and Passo del Foscagno was anther highlight of this beautiful day. ---------- Hoy tuvimos un par de momentos inolvidables. Salimos de nuestro precioso hotel en Collalbo y nos dirigimos hacia el Passo della Mendola. Fuimos directamente al monte Penegal y disfrutamos de las fantásticas vistas desde la cima. Luego continuamos pasando por Cles hasta llegar al Passo del Tonale, donde disfrutamos de un almuerzo típico italiano. Tras dejar el Passo del Tonale, estábamos todos emocionados por el punto culminante del día: el Passo di Gavia. ¡Espectacular! Llegar a nuestro destino final, Livigno, pasando por Bormio y el Passo di Foscagno, fue otro momento memorable de este hermoso día.

Today we could have relaxed in Livigno, but with the "King of Alpine Passes" sitting right on our doorstep, it wasn't a hard decision to go for a ride—especially since the weather was absolutely flawless! From Livigno, we crossed the border into Switzerland and swept over the Ofen Pass into the beautiful Münster Valley. Soon after, we were back in Italy, stopping in the charming medieval town of Glorenza (Glurns) for a well-deserved coffee break. But the Stelvio Pass was calling. We hopped back in the saddles and tackled the legendary 48 hairpin turns to the summit! After stopping for some mandatory photos at the top, we headed straight to Bruno's famous Imbiss to taste his legendary sausage sandwiches. Following a quick and delicious lunch, we descended the switchbacks toward Bormio and looped back to Livigno. We arrived around 3:00 PM, leaving everyone with plenty of time to stroll around town and enjoy some shopping. We are in a tax-free zone, after all! ---------- Hoy podríamos habernos quedado a descansar en Livigno, pero teniendo al "Rey de los Pasos Alpinos" prácticamente a la vuelta de la esquina, ¡la decisión de salir a rodar no fue nada difícil! Además, el clima estuvo absolutamente impecable. Desde Livigno cruzamos rápidamente la frontera hacia Suiza, disfrutando del Ofen Pass hasta llegar al hermoso valle de Münster. Poco después ya estábamos de regreso en Italia, donde hicimos una parada en el encantador pueblo medieval de Glorenza para disfrutar de un merecido café. Pero el Paso Stelvio nos estaba llamando, así que nos subimos nuevamente a las motos ¡y encaramos las legendarias 48 curvas de herradura hasta la cima! Tras las fotos obligatorias en la cumbre, fuimos directo al famoso puesto de Bruno para probar sus legendarios sándwiches de salchicha. Disfrutamos de un almuerzo espectacular y rápido, y luego descendimos hacia Bormio para emprender el regreso a Livigno. Llegamos alrededor de las 3 de tarde, por lo que todos tuvieron tiempo de sobra para pasear por el pueblo y hacer algunas compras... ¡después de todo, estamos en una zona libre de impuestos!

Another day of winding roads against a breathtaking backdrop awaited us. We started from Livigno and rode over the Forcola Pass and the Bernina Pass towards Pontresina, before making a detour to St. Moritz for a photo stop and a refreshing drink by the lake. Afterwards, another highlight was on the agenda – the Flüela Pass led us to Davos. We made a brief stop there as well before heading towards Maienfeld. Once there, we enjoyed Swiss cuisine with a relaxed lunch. Via Vaduz/Liechtenstein, we continued towards the last pass of the day – the Furka Pass. Another short stop there, and then we continued through the Bregenzerwald to Warth am Arlberg. Another dream day on two wheels drew to a close, leaving us looking forward to the final day of this tour tomorrow. ---------- Nos esperaba otro día de carreteras sinuosas con un paisaje impresionante de fondo. Partimos de Livigno y cruzamos los puertos de montaña de Forcola y Bernina en dirección a Pontresina, antes de desviarnos a St. Moritz para una parada fotográfica y una bebida refrescante junto al lago. Después, otro punto culminante en el itinerario era el puerto de Flüela, que nos condujo a Davos. Hicimos una breve parada allí antes de dirigirnos a Maienfeld. Una vez allí, disfrutamos de la gastronomía suiza con un almuerzo relajado. Viajando por Vaduz/Liechtenstein, continuamos hacia el último puerto del día: el puerto de Furka. Hicimos otra breve parada allí y luego seguimos a través del bosque de Bregenzerwald hasta Warth am Arlberg. Otro día de ensueño sobre dos ruedas llegaba a su fin, dejándonos con muchas ganas de que llegara mañana el último día de esta ruta.

This beautiful tour has come to an end, but today was yet another fantastic day! A beautiful blue sky greeted us in the morning as we started riding from Warth down into the valley toward Reutte. Our first stop was at the stunning Plansee, where we enjoyed a coffee with a view and snapped plenty of pictures. Soon after, we crossed back into Germany and stopped at Linderhof Palace, a beautiful 19th-century castle built by King Ludwig II and surrounded by magnificent gardens. It was impossible not to stop and admire it! After a stroll through the grounds, we quickly reached Ettal, where we admired the spectacular abbey church and its massive dome before grabbing lunch nearby. From there, the highway brought us straight into Munich, where we had a huge surprise waiting for our Argentinian soccer fans: a stop at the Allianz Arena, home of FC Bayern Munich! We had time to grab a coffee, visit the museum, and hit the fan shop. Finally, we made the quick trip back to Erding, where Christoph was waiting for us with a well deserved boot beer to toast the end of this truly unforgettable tour! ---------- ¡Este hermoso viaje ha llegado a su fin, pero hoy tuvimos otro día simplemente fantástico! Un cielo azul impecable nos saludó por la mañana mientras comenzábamos a rodar desde Warth bajando por el valle hacia Reutte. Nuestra primera parada fue en el hermoso lago Plansee, donde disfrutamos de un café con una vista increíble y nos sacamos muchísimas fotos. Poco después cruzamos la frontera hacia Alemania y nos detuvimos en el Palacio de Linderhof, un hermoso y pequeño castillo construido en el siglo XIX por el rey Luis II de Baviera, rodeado por unos jardines magníficos. ¡Imposible no parar a admirarlo! Después de caminar un rato por los jardines, llegamos rápidamente a Ettal, donde pudimos contemplar la espectacular iglesia de la abadía y su gran cúpula antes de almorzar en los alrededores. Desde allí, la autopista nos llevó directo a Múnich, ¡donde teníamos una tremenda sorpresa preparada para nuestros fanáticos del fútbol argentinos! Hicimos una parada en el Allianz Arena, el hogar del FC Bayern Múnich. Todos estuvieron fascinados disfrutando de un café, recorriendo el museo y pasando por la tienda oficial. Finalmente, recorrimos los últimos kilómetros de regreso a Erding, ¡donde Christoph nos estaba esperando con una más que merecida Stiefelbier (cerveza en bota) para brindar por el final de este viaje inolvidable!
