Touring Center Norway 🇳🇴 NTC2601

On our first riding day, the tour guides decided to take the route due to the excellent weather conditions towards the legendary Trollstigen. It turned out to be the perfect decision. Our first stop was the harbour in Åndalsnes, where we enjoyed a relaxing coffee while taking in the impressive mountain scenery. After a photostop under the Trollvegen we continued our ride towards the famous Trollstigen, Europe’s highest vertical rock face. The spectacular roads and breathtaking views to waterfalls made for an unforgettable start to the tour. In the afternoon, on our way back west, we visited the beautiful Stordal Stave Church. During a private guided tour, we learned about the fascinating history of this unique wooden church and its importance to Norwegian heritage. Back at the hotel, we ended the day with a delicious dinner together, sharing stories from an amazing first day on the bikes. Beautiful weather, fantastic roads, and unforgettable scenery made for the perfect beginning to our motorcycle adventure.
Good morning and welcome to our second riding day! The rainy weather forecast changed its mind, so we run back to our rooms to grab our sunglasses! Some of us even pack a second pair of shoes. Why? Because today, it's not only about riding twisty roads – a lovely hike is waiting for us as well. We start the engines and head to our first ferry crossing. The ferries in Norway are all electric! The sun reflects on the waves, the mountains rise steeply from the fjord, the atmosphere is simply wonderful, and the electric engines glide along smoothly and silently. On the other side, we cross several beautiful bridges on our way to Runde, also known as Bird Island. Some of us enjoy a little free ride to explore the bridges a bit more, while the rest of the group sets off on the hike to the Puffin Viewing Platform. It's a beautiful walk, and we're rewarded with the sight of thousands of puffins soaring through the sky. Aren't they adorable? On our way back, we take a scenic detour around the island of Gurskøy. Norway's scenery is truly one of a kind. It even makes you forgive the speed limits… sometimes.
Our day along the fjords south of Ålesund started a little earlier than usual. We caught the first ferry of the day and were back on Norway’s beautiful roads after a short crossing. Our route took us along the Nordfjord and Voldsfjord, passing through dense forests, charming fishing villages, and enjoying stunning views of the fjords along the way. In Nordfjordeid, we stopped for a coffee and a nice lunch before continuing our ride. After that, we headed to Westkapp. The views of the rugged coastline and the Atlantic Ocean were simply breathtaking and definitely worth the detour. On the way back to our hotel, we crossed two more ferries. To end the day, we enjoyed an aperitif at the Irish Pub and relaxed after another great day on the road. It was another wonderful day with fantastic roads, beautiful scenery, and unforgettable memories.
On the fourth day, we were accompanied by water as far as the eye could see. Almost the entire route followed Norway’s breathtaking coastline, offering spectacular views of fjords, islands, and the open sea at every turn. Driving along the winding and incredibly scenic road, we soon reached the ferry to Molde. After the crossing, we continued to Bud, a small fishing village located at the westernmost tip of the Nordmøre Peninsula. During the Second World War, the Nazis built an underground fortress complex here. Even today, bunkers, gun emplacements, and other remains serve as reminders of that period. We also visited the local Fisheries Museum. Afterwards, we continued along the coastal road towards Averøya. Crossing an impressive chain of bridges, we reached the famous Atlanterhavsvegen (Atlantic Road), widely regarded as one of Norway’s most beautiful scenic drives.
Last but certainly not least: our tour to Geiranger Fjord! Geiranger is *the* fjord to see. And we don't just get to admire it from the spectacular Dalsnibba viewpoint – we start our adventure with a beautiful boat ride through this magnificent landscape. Wow! The lush green mountains, stunning waterfalls, and tiny farms perched high up on the mountainsides – it's simply breathtaking! Later on, another marvel awaits us: one of Norway's most fascinating road engineering achievements. From the viewpoint, you can see how the road winds its way through the mountains. Straight is definitely not the word that comes to mind. In the afternoon, yet another highlight is waiting for us: the Snow Road, also known as the Old Road. Most traffic uses the tunnel these days. But do they know what they're missing? We could try to describe what you'll see up there, but some places simply have to be experienced for yourself. What a day! Back in Ålesund, we return our beloved bikes and gather for our farewell dinner at the beautiful POLABJØRN restaurant on the ninth floor, overlooking the stunning city of Ålesund. It has been a phenomenal week, and we all take home wonderful memories and unforgettable stories. Norway will certainly remain in our hearts and memories. And who knows? Maybe some of us will come back for another tour! Thank you all for an unforgettable week! Laszlo and Julia
