From WDW to the Height of the Alps

After the unforgettable experience of World Ducati Week in Misano, our first riding day through Italy began. Leaving Rimini, we followed the Adriatic coast to Ravenna, where we admired the city's world-famous Byzantine mosaics and magnificent historic monuments. From there, the route continued through the beautiful lagoon landscape to Chioggia, the charming fishing town often referred to as “Little Venice” because of its picturesque canals and colorful houses. The relaxed atmosphere and warm Italian hospitality made it a memorable stop. In the afternoon, we continued our journey on our Ducati motorcycles to the impressive walled town of Cittadella. A walk along its remarkably well-preserved medieval walls offered spectacular views before we completed the final stretch to Bassano del Grappa. Twisting roads, perfect summer weather, and the ideal combination of exciting riding, rich history, and authentic Italian culture made this a wonderful beginning to our Alpine adventure.

Our second riding day took us deep into the spectacular scenery of the Dolomites and marked the true beginning of our Alpine adventure. Leaving Bassano del Grappa, we climbed the historic Monte Grappa, where breathtaking views over the Venetian plains and the surrounding mountain peaks rewarded every rider. After a short break, the journey continued over the winding Passo Manghen, a true paradise for motorcyclists with its tight switchbacks, peaceful forests, and unforgettable mountain scenery. From there, we crossed the Passo Lavazè before reaching the famous Lake Carezza, whose crystal-clear turquoise waters beautifully reflected the dramatic peaks of the Rosengarten massif. After plenty of photo stops and time to enjoy the stunning landscape, we arrived in Klobenstein on the Renon Plateau. A warm welcome awaited us at the elegant Hotel Bemelmans Post, where excellent South Tyrolean cuisine and genuine hospitality provided the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. It was another remarkable stage, highlighting why the Dolomites are considered one of Europe's finest motorcycle destinations.

The third riding day took us through some of the most breathtaking scenery the Alps have to offer. Leaving Klobenstein, we first descended to Bolzano before beginning the unforgettable climb to the legendary Stelvio Pass. With every switchback, the scenery became more dramatic and the excitement among the riders continued to grow. Reaching the summit at over 2,700 meters was a truly unforgettable moment. For many of our Japanese guests, it was their first visit to this world-famous mountain pass, and their smiles, excitement, and countless photographs reflected just how special the experience was. From there, we continued across the Umbrail Pass into Switzerland, where the rugged alpine landscape and crisp mountain air created an atmosphere of peace and freedom. On our return journey, we stopped in the beautifully preserved medieval town of Glurns for a relaxing coffee break. Sitting together in the charming town square, sharing stories and reflecting on the day's adventures, reminded us that the best memories are often created both on and off the motorcycle. The ride back to Klobenstein once again offered spectacular South Tyrolean mountain scenery, while the evening sun painted the Dolomites in warm golden light. Back at Hotel Bemelmans Post, another unforgettable day came to an end—filled with incredible roads, inspiring landscapes, and friendships that had grown even stronger. It was yet another reminder that riding a Ducati is about far more than the destination; it is about the people, the shared passion, and the unforgettable journey together.

The fourth riding day began with a farewell to the peaceful Renon Plateau before leading us through the spectacular Gardena Valley, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Dolomites. Crossing the legendary Gardena Pass, followed by the breathtaking Passo Valparola and Passo Falzarego, every mile revealed another unforgettable panorama of dramatic rock formations, alpine meadows, and endless winding roads. It was everything a motorcyclist could wish for. Around lunchtime, we reached the beautiful Lake Misurina, where we enjoyed authentic Italian cuisine while admiring the crystal-clear reflections of the majestic Tre Cime in the calm water—a peaceful moment that will remain in our memories for years to come. In the afternoon, we crossed the border into Austria and began the climb along the world-famous Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Although light rain accompanied us for part of the ascent, it only added to the adventure. Mist drifted between the mountain peaks, creating an unforgettable alpine atmosphere. At the iconic Edelweiss Peak, we gathered for a warm coffee while taking in breathtaking views across Austria's highest mountains. Our day ended in Kaprun at Hotel Vötters, but another highlight was still waiting. The legendary Car and Motorcycle Museum amazed everyone with its remarkable collection of classic vehicles, celebrating decades of engineering and passion. From the sunshine of the Dolomites to the rain-kissed alpine roads of Austria, this day perfectly captured the spirit of motorcycle touring—where every road tells a story and every shared experience creates memories that last a lifetime.

The final riding day began with mixed emotions. Over the past days, a group of individual riders had become a close-knit team of outstanding motorcyclists, united by unforgettable experiences, spectacular roads, and a shared passion for Ducati. Leaving Kaprun, our first destination was the Obersalzberg Documentation Center, where we reflected on an important and emotional chapter of history. It was a powerful reminder of the value of peace, freedom, and the privilege of bringing people from different cultures together through a common passion. Our journey then continued to the magnificent Herrenchiemsee Palace, whose breathtaking architecture and royal atmosphere provided yet another unforgettable cultural highlight of this remarkable adventure. The final stage led us through the charming medieval town of Wasserburg am Inn before arriving in Erding at Hotel Henry, where our journey officially came to an end. During our farewell dinner, laughter filled the room as stories were shared and favorite moments relived one last time. One especially touching moment came when one of the participants presented a beautifully produced video she had created throughout the entire journey. Filled with breathtaking scenery, genuine smiles, unforgettable riding moments, and countless memories shared on and off the Ducati motorcycles, the film allowed everyone to relive the adventure together. More than once, the room fell silent as emotions took over, and there were very few dry eyes by the end of the presentation. Strangers had become friends, connected by thousands of unforgettable corners, breathtaking Alpine scenery, and countless shared experiences on two wheels. As the helmets were removed for the final time, everyone realized that this had been far more than a motorcycle tour through Europe. It had been a journey of friendship, mutual respect, and cultural exchange—proof that the love of motorcycling knows no borders. Some journeys end at the hotel, but the most meaningful ones remain in our hearts forever.
