It’s that time of year again—every year, fans of the iconic Austrian brand KTM gather across Europe. Partly to ride the motorcycles for what they were made for, and of course to have a great time with other motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world.
Our tour begins in Germany; we’ll ride through Austria, the birthplace of the KTM brand, all the way into beautiful Italy.
Along the way—which initially takes us south mainly on paved roads—we’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views and experience breathtaking roads. Our destination is the small town of Gubbio in the Umbria region, where this year’s KTM Adventure Rally is taking place. There, it’ll finally be “Ready to Race,” because we’re not just coming as spectators.

Welcome to Germany and “Servus” to Erding. Many—in fact, a great many—suitcases on wheels and orange motorcycles have arrived here in Erding today and over the past few days. It’s officially the first day of our KTM Rally 2026 adventure. But before we set off, there are still a few preparations to be made; we’re trying to get our jet lag under control somehow or using the time to get to know nearby Munich a little better.
In the afternoon, we’ll all meet up for an initial briefing and, of course, to pick up our “sports gear.” We’re really looking forward to it. Tomorrow, we’ll finally hit the road. Italy, here we come.
Our first riding day was beautiful, perfect weather, sweeping roads and nice scenery. We went to Burghausen, the longest castle in the world and the highlight was the KTM Motorhall and factory, the center of the orange universe. We got two guided tours and a lot of information about KTM.
The last stretch of riding to the hotel was really nice. We can't wait for tomorrow, when we get into the Alps.
On this wonderful morning we started riding along the beautiful and calm Lake Atter. It was still a bit chilly at first but sunshine and a blue sky was waiting for us.
We've made our way up to the Postalm for a nice cup of coffee in between the cows and the hills.
From there we rode up and down some more passes before getting to our Lunch spot with a beautiful view over the Zeller lake.
Once everone was finished eating some traditional austrian food, we continued to the next highlight of the day, the Großglockner pass!
Today was another day that couldn't have been any better! Low hanging clouds after leaving the Hotel but bright sunshine just one mountain pass away on the Italian side.
We took a small detour for a panoramic road along a mountain and continued into te Dolomites.
After a countless amount of turns and switchbacks everyone was happy to enjoy a cold drink at our Lovley hotel!
After fully savoring our first day in Italy yesterday—and actually thinking it couldn’t get any better—we’re going to top it all off today.
We pass the time until lunch on spectacular mountain passes that make even the famous Passo Stelvio seem like a beginner’s course. Narrow, winding, steep, and full of breathtaking panoramic views. The Manghen Pass, for example, will likely stay with us for a long time.
Since our original route is unfortunately impassable, we need a Plan B for the afternoon. On the way to the KTM Adventure Rally, Plan B can certainly include parts of the TET—after all, we’re here to ride off-road. And so we make our way along forest roads until we’re back on solid ground.
Our last pass of the day takes us over the Monte Grappa; after what feels like thousands of nearly perfect curves, we reach the Po Valley, where the roads are straight and the temperatures are high. So it’s time for us to arrive at our hotel in Castelfranco Veneto. A dip in the pool to cool off comes in very handy.
What a great day of riding. And the hotel is just stunning. In the morning we had to to a bit of Highway and one part of the group went to see the Ducati Museum in Bologna. The rest of the day was curves, curves and curves through Tuscany with great scenery.
Our hotel tonight is very special, an old villa on the mountain, founded in the 14th century, converted to a luxury hotel. Just wonderful!
The day of driving to Gubbio has arrived! During the morning briefing we had a stunning view over the hills of Tuscany. Setting off with some small curvy roads and a bit of Gravel.
After eating some Gelato as a dessert we've decided to arrive early at the Hotel as it was getting really hot!
In the evening we took all of our bikes to the Basecamp for the tyre change and the riders registration.
Only a few hours away our last big highlight of the trip is waiting for us. The Moto GP race in Misano. 6 riders from the US and Canada are joyning us for that. On a very scenic route headed down to the coast and on the way we saw the historic town of Urbino, the Valentino Rossi Museum and shop and a museum for vintage motorcycles in Simoncellis hometown. Tomorrow we are ready to race (watching)
