Welcome to the Pyrenees Extreme!
Welcome to a place where every road seems to have been made for motorcycles, where every mountain pass opens the door to another spectacular view, and where the next corner is always waiting.
Welcome to the Pyrenees – one of Europe’s greatest motorcycle playgrounds!
Paradise for riders? Absolutely.
Over the next eight days, our international crew will explore some of the very best roads the Spanish and French Pyrenees have to offer. 16 motorcycles, 20 people including two tour guides, and riders joining us from Canada, Germany, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the United States – one international group brought together by the same passion: motorcycles, mountains and adventure.
Ahead of us are around 2,400 kilometers of pure riding pleasure. Starting in Badalona on the Mediterranean coast, our route will take us deep into the mountains, all the way to Pamplona, San Sebastian and back again. Along the way, we’ll cross the border between Spain and France countless times, searching for the smallest roads, the greatest passes and, of course, the endless twisties that make the Pyrenees such an incredible place to ride.
Towering peaks, deep gorges, remote mountain villages, legendary passes and roads that seem to have been designed especially for motorcycles are waiting for us.
And then there is the weather…
The forecast for the coming days promises plenty of sunshine and seriously warm temperatures. Down in the valleys it is expected to get hot, while high up in the mountains we may experience completely different conditions. That’s the Pyrenees – sometimes you can ride from summer heat into cool mountain air within less than an hour.
But whatever the weather brings, one thing is certain: there will be plenty of curves.
For some of our riders, this will be their first encounter with the Pyrenees. For others, it may be another chance to experience one of Europe’s most spectacular motorcycle regions. But for all of us, the next eight days will be about much more than simply getting from one hotel to the next.
It’s about discovering new roads, sharing unforgettable moments, enjoying great food and spectacular scenery, meeting people from different parts of the world – and experiencing that special feeling that only a great motorcycle journey can create.
Five countries represented, 16 motorcycles, 20 people, seven riding days, around 2,400 kilometers – and thousands upon thousands of corners ahead of us.
If you’ve ever wondered whether the Pyrenees deserve a place on your motorcycle bucket list, follow our journey over the next few days.
We have a feeling the answer will be pretty obvious.
The motorcycles are ready.
The mountains are waiting.
And our international crew is ready for the adventure.
Let’s ride!
From the Mediterranean to the Pyrenees
The first riding day of our Pyrenees adventure could hardly have started better. Under perfect conditions and with wonderful weather, our international group left Badalona and headed north toward the mountains.
Our first highlight of the day was the spectacular Montserrat Monastery. Rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape, the famous Benedictine monastery offered an impressive introduction to the journey ahead. The winding approach roads, the unique rock formations and the breathtaking views made Montserrat the perfect first stop of our Pyrenees adventure.
After taking in the atmosphere and enjoying the scenery, we continued north. The Mediterranean coast soon disappeared behind us as the roads began to wind through the Catalan countryside. With every kilometer, the landscape became more dramatic, the roads more exciting and the anticipation of the Pyrenees grew stronger.
Our destination for the day was Os de Balaguer, where we would spend the night at the historic Monastery of Les Avellanes. But before reaching our accommodation, the route still had a few unforgettable highlights in store.
Passes like Coll de Jou and Coll de Boixols reminded us why riders from all over the world dream of the Pyrenees. Endless sequences of perfectly cambered corners, almost no traffic, spectacular mountain scenery and asphalt that seemed to have been built exclusively for motorcycles. It was impossible to wipe the smiles from inside our helmets.
The route offered everything we had hoped for on the opening day: flowing roads, challenging bends, impressive views and the feeling of being completely immersed in the mountains. The perfect weather made the experience even better, allowing us to enjoy every kilometer to the fullest.
By the time we arrived in Os de Balaguer, the bikes had covered their first mountain roads of the tour and the group had already collected countless unforgettable impressions.
If today was only the opening chapter, we can hardly imagine what the coming days have in store.
The bikes are cooling down, dinner is waiting, and tomorrow another incredible day of riding lies ahead.
Stay tuned…
Another perfect morning in the Pyrenees – and another day that reminded us exactly why this region is such an incredible playground for motorcycles.
Leaving Os de Balaguer behind, we headed west toward Pamplona under blue skies and once again with almost perfect riding conditions.
And the Pyrenees certainly didn’t disappoint.
The first part of the day took us through spectacular gorges and along narrow mountain roads, surrounded by impressive rock formations and constantly changing scenery. Corner after corner, the route carried us deeper into the mountains, with fantastic views opening up around almost every bend.
And then came those roads that every motorcyclist dreams about.
Long stretches of seemingly endless, twisting country roads – left, right, left, right – flowing through the landscape with hardly any traffic at all.
Well… almost no traffic.
Just enough that every now and then we actually had someone to overtake. After all, we need a little entertainment along the way!
With perfect weather, dry roads and great visibility, the conditions could hardly have been better. It was one of those days when everything simply comes together: the motorcycles, the roads, the scenery and a group enjoying every single kilometer.
We had planned a refreshing swim at the Yesa Reservoir along the way. Unfortunately, that part of the plan had to be cancelled. After several extremely hot and dry years, the water level is dramatically low, leaving large areas that would normally be covered by water completely exposed.
So, no swimming today – but with roads like these, nobody had much reason to complain.
The final part of the ride toward Pamplona delivered another seemingly endless collection of beautiful, winding country roads. Kilometer after kilometer, corner after corner – and still remarkably little traffic.
At around 6:30 p.m., we finally rolled into our hotel in Pamplona after another spectacular day on the motorcycles.
The bikes are parked, the riding gear is coming off, and now it’s time to relax, enjoy the rest of the evening and look back on another fantastic day in the Pyrenees.
Tomorrow?
More mountains? More curves? More adventure?
We will let you know soon…😉
Today we're having our 'rest'-day.
Well at least some of us decided to leave the bike in the garage to have a walk around Pamplona and explore the city.
The few going for a ride had some twisty turns, some small passes and some really incredible views!
After a great rest day in Pamplona, it was time to pack up the bikes and cross the border into France! We set off for Luz-Saint-Sauveur, and the weather completely played along.
It was a little crisp when we first hit the road this morning, but the sun was shining, and it quickly warmed up into a perfect riding day. The route was fantastic! We spent the day carving through beautiful mountains and cruising past charming little French villages. We took a break halfway to grab some coffee and just soak in the sunshine before tackling the rest of the route.
What a day in the mountains! We left Gavarnie-Gèdre this morning ready for some serious elevation, and the route definitely delivered. Today was all about the legendary high passes of the Pyrenees.
We spent hours leaning into endless curves, climbing up and over the same iconic peaks they ride in the Tour de France. The panoramic views from the top were just unreal. We took our time, enjoyed the mountain air, and just soaked in the sheer scale of this landscape. After a full day of hunting apexes, we've finally parked the bikes in Tarascon-sur-Ariège. Everyone is a little tired, but absolutely buzzing from an epic day in the saddle.
The Day We Will Never Forget
Every motorcycle tour has that one day—the one everyone will still talk about long after the tour is over.
Today was that day.
Brilliant sunshine, dry roads and hardly any traffic welcomed us from the very first kilometre. Over the next 330 kilometres, the Pyrenees delivered pure motorcycle heaven: endless curves, spectacular scenery and perfectly flowing mountain roads.
Our first highlight was the Port de Pailhères at 2,001 metres. After a beautiful climb through the valley, the summit suddenly opened up to a breathtaking panorama towards Andorra. The descent was even better: narrow, twisting and technical—the kind of road you simply don’t want to end.
But then came the highlight of the entire day—and maybe the entire tour:
Collada de Toses.
Fast sweepers, technical corners, perfect rhythm and almost no traffic. It was one of those roads where every corner makes you hungry for the next one. Ask our riders if they would have turned around and ridden the whole pass again?
Absolutely. Without hesitation.
And even between the famous passes, the roads never stopped delivering. We crossed between France and Spain several times, riding through forests, valleys and mountains until we finally reached our last overnight stop in Spain.
When the engines fell silent outside the hotel, everyone knew:
This had been something special.
For me, it was the best riding day of the entire tour.
And tonight at dinner, there will probably be only one topic:
Those incredible roads.
See you tomorrow for our final riding day.
Today was our final day of riding. We cruised down from the mountains, enjoying the last curves until we finally caught that first glimpse of the Mediterranean Sea.
We rolled straight into Badalona to finish our trip right by the beach. The bikes are parked, the gear is off, and everyone is just happy and exhausted. Now it's time to grab some tapas, toast to an awesome trip, and celebrate with a great group of riders. Cheers!
