Rome to Sicily, October edition (RTS1403)

DAY 2 Pompeii to Aquafredda
Yesterday we had a pretty though start of the tour, first coping with Rome morning traffic, then Italian autostrada (freeway) and later with a visit of Pompeii. Today the day won't be much easier, but this means also full of experiences and emotions. We are in fact about to ride towards Sorrento and then cruise the suave Amalfi coast. Lots of magnificent little villages scattered along the coast with house built literally everywhere... hard to believe that is even possible to think about building something on that steep slopes!

DAY 1 Rome to Pompeii
It's hot and sunny in the Urbe (the eternal city of Rome "caput mundi"), this blissful late summer weather is the perfect start for one of the most charming tour of the whole Edelweiss motorcycle offer. After an intense start in Rome we will proceed towards Sicily following the Tyrrhenian coast of southern Italy and its Appennini mountains. Today after we manage to get rid of capitol traffic we follow Via dei Laghi near Castel Gandolfo and suddenly roads get narrower, more twisty and the villages visited becomes smaller.
In the afternoon we speed up our journey hitting the freeway in order to reach Pompeii on time to enter the archaeological park at 5pm and enjoy an interesting tour across its well preserved ruins.
Villages atop hills, what could have more Italian flair than that?

Yep, speed bumps have been invented a few thousands years ago
