27 Aug 2018
Day 1 Arrival day
The group made it to the start hotel near Innsbruck .
After Meeting euch other and the welcome briefing, we had a good dinner. Pouring rain outside! The forecast say snow for tomorrow.
Day 2 - Mieming - Fiss - 210 km
We were Lucky today, It stopped reinigen in the morning and only a little bit snow on the mountains. But it was really cold in the morning. Later on the sun came out and we had a great riding day going up to the Kaunertaler glacier.
Day 3 - Fiss - Penegal - 260 km
We had a fantastic day and everybody did really well on the challenging passo di stelvio. Also passo di Gavia was great. The bootbeer on the terrace at the Penegal hotel overlooking Bolzano and the Dolomites was very special.
Day4 - Penegal - Levico - 260 km
Today we had a more relaxed day going to Levico. But we still had a lot of fun. A special extreme section through the apple plantations was quite challenging.
The group made it easysly. A tree blocked the road later on and we had to take a detour, but we just got some good extra riding.
Day 5 - Restday Levico - 260 km
Today was our first and only restday . But of course most of the riders wanted to ride, so we did a loop to lake Garda on tiny little backcountry roads. We had a great riding day and thousands of curves. Lake Garda is beautiful and a different world, It is like beeing at the Mediterranean with all the Palme along the road.
But the mountains were even better.....For dinner we went out for a first class Pizza!
Day 6 - Levico - Toblach - 270 km
Today was the Day of the passes, Al together 10 passes and some spektakular views over the famous Dolomites. In the afternoon we had a little bit rain, but not too bad. Our hotel near Toblach awaits us with a great view.
Day 7 - Toblach - Mieming - 220 km
Unfortunately our last riding day and the weather turned bad. The first two passes were dry and we enjoyed the ride, but than it was raining all day long, so we had to shorten the route a little bit. Everybody made it safe back to Mieming and I am really proud of this group!!!!
The Group: Bill and Margy from Utah, Chris and Lona from Texas, Brent from California, Gill from Canada, Bert from New Zealand and Stefan from Germany.
