Ethiopia - loop to Debre Libanos

Wednesday, April 27, 2011 | Rainer Buck | Africa

Well, since we expected rain in the afternoon we had to shortcut the daily loop and decided to do a short ride to Debre Libanos which turned out to be an exciting ride.

Once we went out of Addis there was not much traffic anymore and the landscape looked more than beautiful.

Whenever we stopped we immediately got surrounded by the locals who do not see motorbikes very often.

At a short Pepsi stop we looked around and watched the locals. On the opposite street side there were a few women starting their sales. What they did sale? Animal droppings for heating people's houses.

Once we were close to Debre Libanos the view down the valley was breathtaking. I am still wondering how nature could built such an amazing landscape.

Early in the afternoon we were almost back in Addis just stopping once more to take a picture of a so-called Tukul village. It was a great day in an amazing country.

... am looking forward to my next report. Stay tuned!

Please regard my question regarding "how was your trip to Ethiopia" as answered.

The little courageous Austrian girl!!!! Respect! And such a high bike! But I always can see only one motorcycle, so who is "we" - what important information do you hide away?
Anyway, you make me jealous. Take care
