Saturday, August 23, 2014 | RAY | Europe

Day 7: Last Day - Kals, Austria - Seefald - Austria

Everybody is sad about leaving this beautiful Mountains. We will come back soon is the general meaning.

Day 6: Bolzano, Italy - Kals, Austria

Today there was only one aim: see the Dolomites! Blue sky made the perfect backdrop for this incredibly beautiful part of the Alps. We found some wonderful roads, taking us up and down the mountains. The views were incredible, it was tough to decide where to look first - twisty roads or gigantic mountain peaks!

Day 4: Rest day in Livigno, Italy

Rest day - after long riding days with millions of turns and twists, we have definitely deserved it! But as usual, not everybody was going to rest...Some of us explored Livigno, the beautiful town high up in the Italian mountains. The rest of the gang decided to ride a little more: Five mountain passes were just the right amount for this "rest day"...

At first we had a few drops of rain, but as soon as we had finished our first coffee stop on the Albula Pass, the rain disappeared and gave way to a blue sky and lots of sunshine! Here are some impressions:

First stop on Bernina Pass

Day 2: Warth, Austria - Andermatt, Switzerland

Another fresh morning waited for us. Today we would visit three countries - before lunch time! At 9:00 a.m., everybody was ready to go and we started out on small mountain backroads towards our first mountain pass of the day, the Furkajoch.

After that, we reached our second country of the day, Liechtenstein. But as the Duke was not at home and did not invite us for lunch, we had to find a restaurant in country #3, Switzerland.

One more pass, the Klausenpass, had to be mastered - and then we were standing in front of the master of the crossbow, Wilhelm Tell.

Finally we reached Andermatt, were another (light?) dinner waited for us!

The group, ready to go!

Day 1: Seefeld, Austria - Warth, Austria

And off we go!

After a quiet and cool night in the charming little town of Seefeld, we got together for our first morning briefing. Ray pointed out the highlights of today, including Bavarian King Ludwig's Palace Linderhof. Tomorrow, 150 years ago, the most famous Bavarian was born.

After everybody had copied the map for today, it was time to get going. The morning rain had almost stopped, when the group, with members from the Australia, Japan and the USA, left and headed towards Germany:

Great trip. Can't recommend highly enough. Ducati riders this is your trip. Look no further. Marko and Ray were awesome guides, again, can't say enough good things about them. Could not have asked for better guides. My traveling companions were great as well, lots of laughs, and excellent riders.
