ALPS AND DOLOMITES TOTAL: LOS HALCONES (the falcons) conquer the Alps

Wednesday, September 9, 2015 | Guido De Lorenzo / Christian Thaler | Europe

start from Kals

good morning amigos!! are you hungry for Dolomites passes?

On todays menu we have: Passo Rolle, passo Valles, passo Fedaia, Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Falzarego, Valparola, Furcia and for dessert the passp Stalle  (or Stallersattel)

what do u prefere? everyone of course!!

every centimeter of today's route has been a highlight, we are speechless....

a look out of the window... wow!! i love this view!
oh oh... snow? it will be fresh today....
Fernando (alias "maleta" on the passo Sella

the day after the visit at Ferrari and Ducati we leave the lago di Garda to reach finally the Dolomites.

But the way is long is long and varied, Valpolicella, Recoaro terme, Altopiano di Asiago, Primolano,  passo del Brocon and S. Martino di Castrozza, now we are in the middle of the Dolomites!

Another great day is over, it was a rest-no-rest day,

we went in the "terra del mutor" , the italian motor valley,  had a full immersion of italian motor culture, we visit the museum of Ferrari ( in Maranello ) and Ducati (in bologna)

so much race feeling... simply beautyful!

old but sexy....

The plan for today was to have a much relaxing ride then yesterday, beautyful roads and soft hills...

Gampenpass, val di Non, lago di Molveno....mabye too soft??  no problem! we change the plan and we took a detour to val di Chiese and Valsabbia. Behind the Idro lake began a real rollercoaster, the best medicine to cure bored motorbikers.... it was like a fireworks!!

crossing the Garda lake by ferry after a great ride

This morning we woke up with the hope that it might not rain, because we expected a great day,

we had to climb up the "passo dello Stelvio" one of the big highlights for eny motorbiker

unfortunately the illusion was short-lived because punctually at the start  it started to rain...

dry or wet the Stelvio is always a great experience, on the top it was snowing too.....

considering the weather we preferred to shorten the tour reaching Merano along the Vinschgau valley, riding through the apple orchards.

FINALLY THE ALPS!!

The second day we started from Galtür , a little and beautyful ski resort in the Patznauntal,  the Hotel Post  is a famous bikers meeting point, his owner Franz is a Biker he too and he give us the chance to have a little testride wuìith the Zero "motor" cycles, they are electric bike but they are very powerful and (but) free of noise (sound).

After the little test ride we reached the top of the Silvretta high alpine road , we had a visit at the Schattenburg in Feldkirch, crossed the border to Switzerland and to Liechtestein we continued to Davos, Albulapass, Pontresina, the Bernina pass and finally the duty free zone of Livigno, another beautyful Ski resort in the northern Italy

one day across 4 countries: Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy

almost done...it was a long (and wet ) day , but what an experience!!!

Viel Spaß weiterhin, gutes Gelingen, tolle Tour...

lg aus Levico Terme,

Manu
