Now we are going north...

Monday, January 24, 2011 | Werner Wachter | The World Tour

In the last two weeks we went a long way down to Ushuaia and getting on the Southernmost point on this planet is certainly an experience. The whole group was shivering in between, because it was raining as we approached Ushuaia - but at the last day in Ushuaia the sun came out - it was sensational. We walked up the glacier and had a look around at the sea down there and it can only be recommended when you go to South America that you also go all the way south!

But after Ushuaia we made it now all the way up to Monte Fitz Roy which is still on the Argentinian side. The glaciers, the lakes and the mountains are really fantastic. We are enjoying a fantastic experience here riding on gravel roads through this whole area. The last two weeks we had the Atlantic, the Antarctica not too far and then we came back on Ruta 40 which is legendary crossing the Magellan straight up to the mountains. We are all very enthusiastic and looking forward to next week when we will make it up to Argentina to Bariloche.
