Highlights
An adventure through breath-taking wilderness in the cradle of mankind!
Africa – the birthplace of mankind! We will travel a part of this awesome continent with its diverse impressions and landscapes on the motorcycle!
We spend our first few days in Cape Town where its townships, vineyards, waterfront, and Table Mountain cast a spell on us that is hard to break. But soon it is time to head out, leaving the Cape of Good Hope and the southernmost point of this tour section.
The Mediterranean climate of the Cape soon gives way to the arid scenery of the hinterland as two days of riding take us into Namibia. The gigantic Fish River Canyon inspires images of the Grand Canyon, and as we make our way to the former German town of Swakopmund the indescribable desert landscapes of the Namib Naukluft Park will take our breath away.
We wave goodbye to the Atlantic coast and start our crossing of the African continent. Ahead lay the giant salt pans of the Kalahari, a name full of mystery and adventure! This arid bush savanna covers Namibia´s east, all of Botswana, and extends to Victoria Falls. The pleasure of barreling down dusty tracks is interspersed with plenty of chances to play in the water.
We head for Malawi via Lusaka (the capital city of Zambia) and Chipata. Senga Bay awaits, presenting an opportunity to wash off the desert dust with some R&R on its beautiful beaches - the water in front of us reaches the horizon. However, we are still a long way from the Indian Ocean!
But first: a safari! The chance to see the “Big Five” in their natural habitat. We leave Malawi, head north, and make a loop through Tanzania. Our motorcycles will take us to the Ngorongoro Crater and the famous Kilimanjaro National Park, to name a few of the fantastic parks and reserves.
We head to the southeast and can almost smell the ocean. But before we put our feet in the white sand we explore the fantastic Usambara Mountains around Lushoto and after 38 fantastic days across Africa, we finally reach Diani Beach. Two rest days in this paradise will be the icing on the cake for this spectacular tour.
