Kings and Castles Tour

In 2014, I had the opportunity to enjoy two back-to-back motorcycle adventures with Edelweiss. The first one was a ride through Eastern Europe on the 'Kings and Castles Tour'. Having earlier visited these same countries when they were still behind the Iron Curtain, I was pleased and amazed to witness the progress that has been achieved since the Berlin Wall came tumbling down in 1989. And did we see castles and palaces? There must be no other place on earth with such historic and lavish living accommodations. Following this tour, I enjoyed a train ride across Austria to link up with the group with whom I would enjoy a week of spirited riding in the Alps on Zero brand electric motorcycles. I learnt that electric motorcycles are wonderfully powerful and satisfying when employed to enjoy the variety of roads that abound in the Alps. Every lunch stop was arranged to accommodate the recharging needs of the bikes, and absolutely no one was stranded with a bike that ran out of 'juice'. I've been a fan of Edelweiss Bike Travel tours since my first trip with them in 1984. Both they and I have I think aged gracefully and positively, and retain the ability to give as good as we get.
