Day 6: Novo Mesto - Klagenfurt

Already the last riding day of a fabulous tour, we‘re heading back to Austria to our starting location in Klagenfurt.

For the first time we would need to use our rain gear to leave the hotel.

After a shortcut on the highway to avoid the most raining area we arrived in Kranj for lunch.

Once back at the bikes the weather cleared up and we were blessed with best riding weather for the second half of the day, just a perfect way to end a perfect tour.

Wow what an amazing view!
Almost back in Klagenfurt.
Great time while we went through the tour again and sharing memories and impressions at the farewell dinner.
Last group picture before we leave. It was a great time and hopefully we all meet again.

Day 5: Plitvicka lakes - Novo Mesto

Today we leave Croatia again and riding back to Slovenia.

Our ride took us through a less frequented area where you think time stood still for the last

Brett and Jeff having a good time at the coffee stop.

...and everybody is following.

Day 4: Rest day Plitvicka lakes

Today’s rest day, was all but not a rest like laying back and relaxing.

In fact we got up quite early to have breakfast while Bruce and Tom went to purchase the tickets for the entrance to the park.

After breakfast we all went for a hiking tour through one of the most beautiful national parks the planet has to offer.

After a few hours walking through this amazing nature reserve and having a quick lunch, the group was ready for a short ride out into the less frequently visited backcountryside.

Nice little and almost empty roads took us along some spectacular landscapes.

At some places reminders of the civil war where still visible.

Fabulous nature spectacle
Happy faces all day long.
Jeff, Gary and Bruce loving the scenery.
Just like paradise.
Isn’t it amazing?
Tom had a good eye to capture this little fellow.
Croatia awaits us with amazing scenery.
Some reminders of the WWII

Day 3: Motovun - Plitvicka Lakes

Today we have another 300km ride ahead of us, we will head for the beautiful national park around the plitvicka lakes.

First we will have to cross the peninsula before we follw the coastline til Senj where we have dinner and maybe a refreshing dip into the adriatic sea.

After this we have to say goodbye to the seaside while heading into the mountains on more twisty and narrow roads to reach todays destination near the plitvicka lakes!

After a short stressing moment we are ready to kick off. Brett was looking after his motorcycle which disappeared through a hole inside his pocket. )
No way wecould have better riding weather!
Some sort of a power plant with a huge chimney tower. Really impressive.
Here we go! Fun all day long.
Small check, nobody got lost on the highway.
What a beautiful day along the adriatic sea.
Small harbors are popping up every few kilometers along the coastline.
Everybody is having a great time!
Ramsey and Susan truly enjoy it!
Relaxing time for Tom!
Wow! What a platter! Mike can‘t trust his eyes.
Fresh from the sea, quite a lot to share! Enjoy it!

Day 2: Rest day Motovun

Rest day doesn‘t means leaning back and checking out the wellness area, at least not for this group.

Today we go out and explore the beautiful roads of  the Istria peninsula...

Get lost they said and you might find a hidden treasure...

Our first stop of the day in the town called Vrsar.

Day 1: Klagenfurt - Motovun

Two border crossings on todays shedule, that sounds a good plan for the first day.

We will leave austria and cross through slovenia to end up in croatia. Over 300km waiting for us.

Alot of twisties, hairpins, narrow and wide roadsare ahead of us, i think that might be right way to stat this adriatic rollercoaster tour!

See you later!

Here we go, on the way into Slovenia.
Our first mountain pass is already within sight.
Perfect riding weather, not too hot not too cold!
Susan and Ramsey enjoying the ride!
Brett aka “the yellow man” on the way to the first mountain pass of the day.
Amazing views at the Loiblpass...
Wow what a great place for a coffee stop.
Group picture at the coffee stop.
On the train for the Postojna caves...
Inside the caves of Postojna... 24km of caves but only 5.5km for the visit.
The caves are really outstanding!
Red and white stalagmites, the colour depends on the minerals, red is iron mineral and white is pure limestone mineral.
Our tour guide Tom was speechless when he saw those german riding boots...
Impressive highway bridge
View of Motovun from the north, another 25km to go til we reach the hotel.
