Monday, July 4, 2022 | Domenico Schiano Moriello | Europe

Day 1, Welcome to Erding!

The BMW Motorrad Days are back! After two years of standstill due to the pandemic, the biggest brand event is finally getting rolling again. Ant there is also a surprise, for the first time the event will take place in Berlin! To get in the right mood, we have to reach Germany's capital by bike (of course!)... so what are we waiting for? Let's go!!!

Bikes (all BMWs, of course!) are ready...
...first meeting...
... the group has arrived...
... and our itinerary! Three countries in one week!
Welcome briefing

Day 2, Erding - Lienz

A tour through Europe is not complete if you don't get a taste of the Alps, so on our first riding day we headed southwards into Austria! Soon after leaving Erding, we started to see the mountains from a distance, and we went closer and closer until we finally reached them! And, after lunch, already one of the highlights of the tour, the famous Grossglockner road, was awaiting us before finally reaching the pretty town of Lienz, where we are spending the night.

Day 3, Lienz - Schladming

A beautiful hot, very hot, summer day (are we really in the Alps?), today we rode thousands of corners and the highlight was the spectacular Nockalm road, well worth a 15 Euro toll! Enjoy the pictures!

Day 4, Schladming - Passau

Today we entered Germany again, but we rode the whole day in Austria before finally passing the boeder and entering Passau, the town on the three rivers, where the Danube meets the Inn! A beautiful sunny day in the morning, and then more and more clouds appeared, but we managed to reach our destination just in time before it started raining... well done!!!

Day 5, Passau - Prague

After leaving Passau in Germany, we entered Austria for a little while and then entered Czech Republic... three countries in one day!!! We visited the beautiful village of Český Krumlov, in the southern part of Bohemia, and then headed northwards to reach Prague, the capital of the country, and also one of the most beautiful cities in Europe! Did I mention the rain? Today it was our travel partner!!!

Day 6, Prague - Dresden

Tiny roads across the Czech "outback" were on our menu today. Melnik, a small town north of Prague, was our first stop and then we continued northwards, to the "Bohemian Switzerland" a beautiful, mountainous region full of dense forest and rugged rock formations. After lunch we entered Germany and reached Dresden after a last coffee break at Bastei, an high rock from where we could admire the river Elbe.

Day 7, Dresden - Berlin

Berlin is waiting for us !! We have left the mountains and the hills, but it was another great day! First we stopped in the centre of Dresden to admire its beautiful monuments and then we quickly reached Berlin using mostly the highway for two reasons... avoiding riding through rain (the forecast for the afternoon wasn't good!) and reaching Berlin in time to go already to the BMW event!!!

Day 8, Berlin BMW Days!

Good morning Berlin! After breakfast, our day started with a great city tour by bus with a local guide, who took us to the most interesting sites of this great city. Berlin isn't very old, but it's already full of history, especially in modern times! We saw some remainings of the wall that separated the East from the West during the cold war, the Brandeburger Gate, the Reichstag... and many more sites! The bus dropped us off at an italian restaurant where we had our farewell lunch, then some time to rest and then... BMW days with gala dinner! Thank you my friends from Argentina, it has been a wonderful experience!!!
