Riding day 1: Anchorage to Girdwood

Our first day starts after the morning briefing with the takeover of the motorcycles. After that we head south to collect our first impressions of Alaska. Unfortunately, the weather is not in our favor. But hey, it's Alaska and when the sun peeks through the clouds we can see how great the landscape around us is.
We visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and learn in Hope more about the history of the modern settlement of Alaska.

Riding day 2: Girdwood to Talkeetna

Back to Anchorage...but fortunately we just pass through town, the tour isn't over yet. Instead a big highlight was waiting for us: the famous Hatcher Pass Road. Even though the road was wet, we managed to get over the pass and could enjoy the fantastic Alaskan scenery.

Rest day: Talkeetna

What a morning: clear blue skies over Talkeetna, the perfect weather for our flight to the more than 20,000ft tall Denali, North Americas highest mountain.

After the flight we still have plenty of time to explore the small stores, restaurants and bars in Talkeetna's historic center.

Riding day 3: Talkeetna to Fairbanks

After our rest day in Talkeetna, we have a very long but also very beautiful driving day ahead of us today. We are heading to Fairbanks, the second largest city in Alaska. The day starts rainy, but just in time for our arrival at Denali National Park Alaska shows its most beautiful side. The clouds have become less, it is dry and we can enjoy the beauty of this impressive spot of earth to the fullest.

Riding day 4: Fairbanks to Tok

Blue sky in the morning - thr perfect weather to explore Fairbanks and its surroundings. We started out with a visit to Fairbanks historic center and then continued to one of the best car museums in the world: the Fountainhead museum in Fairbanks.

After a short detour to the North Pole - with it's famous Christmas shop - we turned south towards the Alaska Highway. After a great lunch near the highways final milepost, we rode the highway all the way to Tok.

Riding day 5: Tok to Valdez

Today we start in Tok with best conditions. The weather is kind to us almost all day. Along the Wrangel St. Elias National Park we have a wonderful view of Mt. Sanford. And the mountains of the largest National Park in the USA. Towards the end of the day the Worthington Glacier is waiting for us, which is an incomparable landmark. On the last miles to Valdez we pass two beautiful waterfalls on our way, through a scenic valley, which we of course do not ignore. What a day.

Rest day: Valdez

Rest day - a good opportunity to park the motorcycle and let someone else do the work.

We decided to get on a boat and visit the gigantic Columbia Glacier. Great idea - we saw a lot of wildlife, beautiful icebergs and the incredibly big face of the Columbia Glacier.

Riding day 9: Valdez to Glacier View

Pouring rain, 50 degrees - and everybody is in a good mood and ready to ride - what a great group. We started with a visit to Valdez' fish hatchery, where thousands of salmon try to get upstream.

After a short visit to the Wrangell-St. Elias visitor center we continued to Lake Louise - no, not the one in Canada. The warm lodge and good food were definitely needed after the cold and wet morning ride.

Fortunately, the rain had stopped, snd we had a beautiful ride to today's destination, Glacier View.
