Balkan meets Dominican Republic

day1 - ready to go to Slovenia
Bikes are ready for the adventure
riders need a little meditation

day2 - the islands - Croatia
on the ferry to Cres
the sun was our companion on every day
walking to the lunch in the harbor of Cres
the second ferry to Krk came just right zu relax and digest

day3 - the Adriatic Coast
Coffee stop in the historic town of Opatija
over 100 year old K&K Monarchy hotels - renovated like new
walking on the promenade
lunch in Senj after riding along the coast on the Magistrale
leaving the coast not before diving into the Adriatic Sea

day4 - the lakes and Bosnia
starting the walk to the famous lakes of Plitvice (World Heritage UNESCO)

day5 - back to Slovenia
former Bosnian school - not used for 30 years
nice lunch at the river
Pan - very delicious Croatian beer - but not during the day, the fridge stayed locked

day6 - over the Karawanken Mountains to Klagenfurt
first summit victory in the morning

the Dominican crowd on the Rollecoaster
too much food makes you tired - power nap helps
crossing back into Austria over Paulitsch Pass
in the Karawanken Mountains and the sun stayed always with us

last stop before reaching the hotel
Austria is beautiful as well
right after we have reached our final destination a heavy thunderstorm started with hail
we had a wonderful week with best weather . thx to the Dominicans - Pedro with Mariella, Oscar with Karen, Fernando with Virginia and Alfredo
