After the rest day we continued north, but not without experiencing a truly New Zealand thing: jetboating. It was a blast!
The Crown Range Road is one of New Zealand's highest roads. It's a beautiful set of curves and switchbacks, newly paved, great fun. From the top we could see Queenstown one last time and wave goodbye.
Here are some more pictures of the beautiful riding on the South Isalnd:
Amazing view from this lookout, high on the cliffs on the West Coast of the South Island. Just unforgettable!
Yesterday's trip to Milford Sound was exciting, but also exhausting, so our rest day in Queenstown is well deserved. The world's Adventure Capital offers more activities than you can imagine, but real riders always put their motorcycle first. So we headed out for a short ride to Paradise and back, taking in incredible views along the way:blue sky over Lake Wakatipu
Before the season in New Zealand is over Edelweiss came back for one more tour. Six happy fellas from Quebec seized the opportunity to escape the winter in Canada. Here are some impressions of the first three days:
The tour started out well, even though it was raining while we rode from Christchurch towards the mountains. But by the time we got there the sky was blue, the sun was out and Mount Cook presented himself in his full glory.
A sunny day, a great location, a tasty picnic. What else could we ask for?
The West Coast of New Zealand's South Island is one of the wettest places in the world. It is also one of the most beautiful, so we didn't let the rain discourage us from riding the spectacular road to Milford Sound, where we embarked on a scenic cruise. A very memorable experience!
By the time we returned from the cruise the sun had finally won the battle against the clouds. The sky turned blue, temperatures went up and the imcomparable Milford Road waited for us. Sometimes it all just falls into place...
